Sharing my modified version of Dmitrii's “Alternative FFB” Lua script. This began as a fun experiment with my friend, ChatGPT, and I got a bit carried away. All credit goes to Dmitrii for the excellent base FFB.

The following force feedback haptic effects have been added (all configurable via the Content Manager UI):
  • Gear shift
  • ABS
  • Wheel lock
  • Wheel spin
  • Understeer
  • Oversteer
  • Lateral slip
  • Dirty tyres
Note: This was put together in just a few days, and most of the tuning was done by feel. There could be bugs or suboptimal results. Feedback and suggestions are welcome! 😊

nice
Loving the detail from front slip, combined with SimHub UDPConnector for haptics this has enhanced immersion...even after 5yrs I want go back & track every car again. I turned up AC gain to 60% as was bit light: Simcube 1 Mige 20Nm, 22-bit BISS-C encoder, Buttkicker, HF8. Sim3D pedal shakers.
you have my gratitude, it looks like an amazing job which adds a lot of depth in the FFB output. With my Conspit Ares Platinum i'm just having some troubles finding the correct settings, because with stock settings it feels a little bit too strong on effects (mostly bumps), while weak, and sometimes weird, while turning. I'll try to figure out how to set it properly, in the meantime anyone knows if there's a user guide which explains the effect of the sliders?
unfortunely on my cammus c12 is not that good , i see the potential but i cannot find the right way to use it, center ffb is very weak and vague even increasing the front force slider. In some breaking points i loose the rear in ways never happening with vanilla, maybe the situation is better with other bases. I wait for other c12 users to share info and settings; at the moment i stay with vanilla and my gamma excellent settings
hello i am using your ffb and it is very nice.
Do you have any advice on how to adjust it best?
i have a TS-XW and in curves in non-extreme conditions i feel that it has more resistance than it should in reality.

Hello, thanks for the feedback. I am on a DD wheel, so it is difficult for me to provide direct advice. I personally find the forces in curves fairly mild with default settings, so I would start by checking the settings you have in your TS-XW software. There may be something in there amplifying the effect, like a "minimum ffb" setting perhaps. Otherwise, I believe directly reducing Side Force at the script level will help, but that will affect more than just slow curves and I am actually considering raising the default slightly in a future update. The Base Force multiplier setting will also significantly increase resistance in curves if you have increased beyond 1.
Finally a long awaited way to create ffb files like in AMS2. And now this great lua script. Makes it possible to use very low ffb gain (I prefer this) without loosing to much detail. Thank you!
Adjusting the frequencies is a cool feature, too. Let's make them similar to those of my ButtKicker with Simhub.

awesome, i fixed the issue of the wheel feeling light in the center, i just had to put more front force from the sliders, now i love it, i will not go back to the vanilla ffb. it would be very nice if you could adjust the sliders ingame, it's getting annoying exit the session everytime to make a small change, especially now that i'm trying to find the sweet spot. with future iterations this script will be better and better and it will become a must have for every assetto driver, just like content manager. if you don't have haptics on pedals this is a game changer. TYVM sir for making assetto more enjoiable than it already is. brilliant.

Thanks for the feedback! Not quite in-game, but you can alt-tab, open CM and change the settings. They will update live into the game.

This app is great however for me it takes away too much from my existing settings which have been etched into my brain over many years. Unlearning is harder than learning so to speak.
For me, it messes up my settings too much. In fact, I only need the "gear shift" effect. Would it be technically possible to activate one effect after the other, rather than activating them all? Even if we deactivate all the other parameters, my old ffb is ruined. I hope I was clear :)) Thanks

Unfortunately, activating post-processing FFB turns off the vanilla FFB of AC. That mechanism is not exposed in the script itself, so an "hybrid" feature is something I think would need to be added at the CSP level. Best I can do is let you turn off the extra stuff I am adding on top. :)

This is great. Really makes the most of FWD cars straight out of the box! Thanks for your work!
Man, when i thought there was no further improvements possible for AC, you brought this thing. Feels like a new (better) game. Thanks
This is my first review on OverTake, but I absolutely had to express my gratitude for how great this script is. I thought I had my FFB dialed in until I tried this.
If I could ask for one improvement, can you make the simulated dirty tires an adjustable setting? It being on felt like too much with my setup.
Other than that, outstanding job and thank you!

Thanks for the feedback! I will have a slider for the dirty tires effect in the next version. I was also able to pull actual "dirty tire" telemetry from the game, so the effect will now also fade away in sync with the state of the tires.
excellent ! it helps a lot especially for old cars and add immersion
thank you so much !
if you could do the same with AC Evo it would be really nice !
I have a TS-PC belt driven wheel and compared to the original FFB here there is very little information, forces, and sensations. The shifting effect is very good althoug pretty subtle but everything else is almost non-existent (curbs and road feel) except for some counter forces when the car is almost lost. I guess this works well only for DD. Anyway I would like to thank you, cheers.
Very well in almost all but i'm loosing all the kerbs vibrations, i've tryed all possible but still nothing.

Thank you. I have found that some kerbs can still be felt while others not. I'm not sure why, but I have an idea to try address the missing ones. On my to-do. 🙂
5 stars just for the gear shift effect! wanted this ever since I started with AC!
feels great, but there's something wrong with the gear shift effect, disabling it in the settings (removing the checkbox from "gear shift") doesn't work, the effect stays on in the game

Thank you for pointing this out. Turns out most settings were not working as intended. I have published an update to address this. Let me know if you notice anything else.
