If you have not heard of DR!FT, these little pocket rockets are designed and built around real cars. The physics are scaled to feel as they would in the real car, but at 1/43 scale! Each vehicle can be set up and customised to your exact specifications to allow you to drift and race precisely how you want to. Despite the name, circuit racing is also possible; it all depends on how you set up your car.

What makes these DR!FT cars so unique is the hidden rotatable axle underneath the car's body, which does all of the work. The four wheels you can see do not have any power going to them; instead, the software behind this customisable third axle makes these cars so unique.
What makes the Dr!ft car's performance so incredibly realistic compared to a real car is a small 360° rotating, height-actuating trolley with drive wheels and balance adjuster screws. This innovative design allows the car to raise, dive, and realistically drift through turns.
Look at how the car pitches and adjusts to create this incredibly realistic drifting experience on mountain roads or on a flat-circuit racing setup.
The car is entirely customisable in terms of how you want to race it and what it sounds like. Do you want a V8 and have it set up for grip-based tarmac racing, but then put a V6 in for a gravel rally stage immediately after? Well, you are in luck; the software allows you to adjust and change each aspect of your car to fit the racing style you want to do without having to replace and wear out physical parts like tyres and small delicate bolts.
Once you have connected the app to your car through Bluetooth, you operate the car by pressing your smartphone screen in the allocated areas for the throttle, brake, and handbrake. You can also adjust the steering angle by tilting your phone like a steering wheel. The three centralised buttons allow you to start/stop the ignition, turn on the headlights, and select reverse.

The app also leverages the speaker and vibration motors in your mobile phone or tablet to provide audio and haptic feedback, similar to force feedback on your racing simulator. Depending on which setup you choose before your race, starting the car will provide engine note-specific sounds.
The RPM of your engine is also tracked, as well as the grip level of the tyres and when they start to slip and lose grip, your phone will communicate that through the feedback, The screech of the tyres and vibrations when locking up the wheels when hitting the handbrake is also a great feature.
Whether you are drifting solo or racing with friends, the DR!FT cars are immense fun. As sim racers, we want feedback and realism in everything we do, and we believe that these little RC cars are precisely what we have been after. We hope you love them as much as we do!
Let us know in the comments below which DR!FT car you have your eye on and where you would set up your drift circuit!

What are DR!FT RC cars?
Licenced shells from the likes of Audi, Nissan, Porsche and Subaru bring the DR!FT cars to life with endless possibilities to create your own rally stages, drifting courses, racing circuits or gymkhana runs in your front room or wherever you have space. The DR!FT car catalogue has an option for everyone at every price point. If you have not heard of DR!FT, these little pocket rockets are designed and built around real cars. Adjustable setups and physics
The physics behind these cars is incredible. Each car can simulate 4WD, AWD or RWD drivetrains, meaning it can handle very differently. However, underneath the body is the exciting bit. What makes the Dr!ft car's performance so incredibly realistic compared to a real car is a small 360° rotating, height-actuating trolley with drive wheels and balance adjuster screws. DR!FT mobile app
To replace the typical RC controller, use the official app on your phone or tablet to control your new DR!FT cars. Throughout our testing, which you can see above, we found that the response time was almost instant and felt very similar to an actual RC controller.Once you have connected the app to your car through Bluetooth, you operate the car by pressing your smartphone screen in the allocated areas for the throttle, brake, and handbrake.
