Team Redline sim racer Chris Lulham makes the move from the sim to real life joining Max Verstappen's racing team, Verstappen.com for the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe season.
Competing at the highest level of sim racing esports before making the switch to real world motorsport on an international stage is a dream many of us have, but few will ever achieve. But Chris Lulham, a prominent Team Redline member will be making that move this year thanks to fellow Redline team member, Max Verstappen.
It was announced yesterday that the four-time Formula One World Champion will be fielding a single car in GT World Challenge Europe in 2025 under the Verstappen.com banner. Lulham will be competing in both the Sprint and Endurance rounds including the Spa 24 Hours alongside fellow Verstappen.com drivers.
In Sprint Cup rounds, the Brit will line up alongside Thierry Vermeulen aboard an Emil Frey Racing-operated Ferrari 296 GT3. The pair will be joined by Porsche Cup superstar, Harry King for the Endurance rounds where they will switch to an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 run by 2Seas Motorsport.
About the year ahead, Lulham said: "It is an unbelievable chance and I can’t wait to make the most out of this opportunity."
Alongside an impressive campaign last year, Chris has achieved great things in the sim rig as part of Team Redline, last year contributing to a iRacing Bathurst 12 Hour win and more recently a top-three finish in the IMSA Esports Global Championship. Meanwhile, the sim-come-real racer participated in Max Verstappen's double victory weekend helping him claim the Top Split Nurburgring 24 Hours on iRacing as well as the 2024 Imola GP.
However, it is clear that the focus has always been on real world motorsport with a heavy stream of Karting results ranging all the way back to 2011 when Lulham took the F6 Honda Cadet crown whilst 2017 saw him just missing out on the OK-Junior Karting World Championship.
