Alguecool & Pasta are proud to present the Datsun/Nissan Fairlady 2000 "Clubman" for Assetto Corsa!
History:
The Nissan Fairlady 2000 was not only a commercial success, but this success resonated on the racetrack as well. Since the very first race of the Fairlady 1500 model in 1963 (in which it took a win), the Fairlady became a staple in Japanese race meetings. With the introduction of the 2000 model in 1967, many racing drivers/clubs flocked to Nissan in hopes of receiving the factory issued sports kits to go racing.
This model represents that club racer, aptly named "Clubman" spec to reflect these changes. Equipped with a twin Weber Carb setup, exposed oil cooler and with removed chrome trim, the Fairlady 2000 became a true track weapon. Famous Fairlady racers include names like Kunimitsu Takahashi, Kenji Tohira, Moto Kitano, Seiichi Suzuki, Takatoshi Teranishi just to name a few. Often in domestic endurance races, while the big factory works teams like Toyota dominated with the Toyota 7, a Fairlady 2000 was never far behind.
In Assetto Corsa, the physics have been handled by the great Bazza, making sure the car drives in an authentic manner. The car can be quite rough in corners, front heavy and with a rough diff, but it should still make for a fun racing experience in one make or historic scenarios. Recommended to pair with AD3R's Honda S800 RSC, as the two often raced in the GT class. The car comes with 20 historically accurate racing liveries by yours truly.
A massive thank you goes to @Alguecool , who offered his free time and patience making three versions of the Fairlady 2000 for all of us. Without his talent and generosity, we'd never have seen this lovely icon from Japan in Assetto Corsa. If you have any dubloons to spare, his donation link is on top of the page (or HERE).
