The March update is here: Gran Turismo 7 v1.57 is rolling out, and aside from the new content and extended Sophy AI capabilities, there are a few minor changes. Here's everything new in the GT7 March update!
The latest update for Gran Turismo 7 is here, introducing version 1.57 to Sony's flagship PlayStation racer. While the new cars that join GT7 alongside the update may not be everyone's cup of tea - once again, it has to be said - the enhanced capabilities of Sophy AI make the new version's release an interesting one regardless.
A total of 19 track options will be available, according to a Sony AI press release. Players can choose the number of laps for a race, select customization for the cars controlled by Sophy and adjust their tuning setups, as well as set their tire and fuel consumption rates.
Potentially, this could make for very interesting grids and scenarios that players could create. "With GT Sophy 2.1, we are giving players more control than ever over their interactions with GT Sophy by allowing them to fine-tune gameplay, experiment with new strategies, and advance their racing skills", states Sony AI's Senior Staff Research Scientist Kaushik Subramanian.
Other than the content, the Sophy upgrade and a few minor fixes, Polyphony Digital has added engine swaps to five more cars, those being the BMW M2 Competition '18, the BMW Z4 3.0i '03, the Ford GT '06 and '17 models, and the Subaru BRZ S '15.
On the hardware side, the Thrustmaster T598 is now officially supported within GT7. For all changes introduced in Gran Turismo 7 v1.57, check the patch notes below.

GT Sophy 2.1
'GT Sophy', as it is officially called, has been elevated to version 2.1, and it is available for Custom Races now - albeit not all of them, it would seem, as the release notes mention it being present "for supported tracks and layouts". What these are is not actually listed, however. Sophy 2.1 is exclusively available in the PlayStation 5 version of the game.A total of 19 track options will be available, according to a Sony AI press release.
