After its first Early Access release, Assetto Corsa EVO saw all sorts of different feedback. We asked our community for their thoughts - here is how they received the sim.
Assetto Corsa EVO has undoubtedly divided the sim racing community. Some see Kunos' vision for the title, and others expect much better. But what did our community think about the launch of the most hotly anticipated title of 2025?
With over 1,200 votes on our community poll, Assetto Corsa EVO is certainly not at the top of everyone's favourite sim racing titles list. However, there were a lot of positives to take from the poll, and our community especially appear to be very patient and willing to give Kunos a chance to develop Assetto Corsa EVO into something fantastic.
Despite the initially impressive Force Feedback, the lack of features and poor performance have led to over 100 participants refunding the title and even writing it off entirely.

Players have varying experiences with Assetto Corsa EVO's VR, especially depending on what hardware and software they are using. A small handful of players, like SharkVA, have got the VR to a point where it is playable. However, the majority of VR players would most likely be putting off buying Assetto Corsa EVO, as website member, Rearview, mentions.

When it comes to racing the AI, players like a competitive experience with competitors that can challenge the feel of racing real players. Overall, the AI is competent in some scenarios, and not so very much in others, so there is a long way to go to make it even as good as a competitor like iRacing who do not push their single player experience.
So, with such stiff competition, the development of AI within Assetto Corsa EVO is something that we here at OverTake are following very carefully, especially with so many of our wonderful community interested in single-player racing over the online aspect of Assetto Corsa EVO.
In the comments below, let us know which aspect of Assetto Corsa EVO you most want to see adjusted, improved or added!

What our community want Assetto Corsa EVO to be
From the poll's comments section, one very apparent theme was repeated through numerous comments: potential. Many members praise how the cars handle, with the weight and driving feel evolved from its predecessor, Assetto Corsa Competizione. However, the performance issues and poor initial implementation of VR were big sticking points.Despite the initially impressive Force Feedback, the lack of features and poor performance have led to over 100 participants refunding the title and even writing it off entirely.

Assetto Corsa EVO AI and VR
Besides the development of the game as a whole, VR and AI are two big sticking points for lovers of the single-player sim racing experience. Whilst the VR does show some signs of what it could be, as described by SharkVA below, for the most part, it is very hard to use and relatively sickness-inducing on most modern headsets.Players have varying experiences with Assetto Corsa EVO's VR, especially depending on what hardware and software they are using.
