Continuing the pattern established over the past few days, we now are at the midway point of reveals for cars that will be available in the Early Access build of Assetto Corsa EVO.

With 20 cars set to be drivable in Assetto Corsa EVO's Early Access arriving 16 January, developers Kunos Simulazioni have been revealing them four at a time. The first two sets mainly focused on road cars, and now we arrive at the third - which has a similar approach.

This time round, the next four cars are made up of a low powered sportscar, a lightweight version of an already fast car, a hot hatchback and a racing car designed to be driven by enthusiast amateur drivers.

It is probably a safe bet to say that to the larger portion of sim racers, the most exciting car of this batch will be the Ferrari 488 Challenge EVO. The majority of the cars revealed so far have been road cars, which represents a huge departure from the GT racing focus of Kunos' previous title Assetto Corsa Competizione and is closer to the original Assetto Corsa's car roster. The 488 is the second car revealed to have also featured in ACC, alongside the BMW M2 CS Racing, both of which appeared in ACC's Challengers Pack DLC.

The rest are no slouches either, the M4 CSL being the quickest of the others. It is the lightened and more track-focused variant of the M4, producing 550 horsepower, can go from 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds and all the way to a top speed of 190mph. With these cars making it 12 of 20 cars, stay tuned over the next few days for the final eight cars being revealed.

Which of these four newly revealed cars are you most excited to drive in Assetto Corsa EVO? Let us know in the comments below and join the discussion in our AC EVO forum!

So nice, of those 4, the Alpine is the most interesting, close tie with the Ferrari, TBH.

4 more cars for me to add to what I have set in AC, as I am waiting. I have created a Track Day grid with all the cars shown so far, running on Silverstone new version, the one with the Hotel.

Only 6 days left to wait, will we have a track day setting in ACE, like we do in AC?

I have to believe that this title is going to live or die on how easy it is going to be to mod it. If it's easy, and groups like RSS, VRC, and Bazza with his awesome historic cars get interested and add a lot of content then I can see it lasting for a decade. If not, from what I have seen so far, I think it will get old very quick. The main reason AC is still popular is because of the mods. I guess we will see.

This is looking more and more like a glorified Gran Turismo with a PC version.

Only the free roam may (or may not) save it the way it's going.

Honestly, seems like they are really aiming at the console market.
Not sure why you think a GT clone with proper physics wouldn't be a success? There is a big gap in that market. Forza Motorsport could have made a stab at filling that gap, but it was, and is, terrible. Evo, with better graphics, VR and triple support and proper physics ( we hope ) could have appeal to the hardcore and the casual alike if they do it right.

Well, put me in the minority, then.

Not that I'm not interested, but we've seen it before in AC and the GT3 version in ACC. I'm much more excited for the Alpine A110S!

Not a big fan of road cars at all, especially those that I could own myself. I deleted every one of them found on vanilla AC. There’s only been a few detailed in the release that are stupidly big, powerful & way out of my price range. That’s kinda what I want from a simulator, the opportunity to drive ludicrously expensive race cars or vintage motors.

I've been watching the comments silently for a few days, and I'm telling myself today that people talk, talk too much and say nothing.
Nothing relevant, no analysis, assumptions, in short ... .
Wait 6 days and then you can really talk.
As for those who swear by competition, stay on Acc and leave the others alone.

Dudes...MX5 cup car, 488 challenge, optimistically assuming we'll see that 992 GT3 cup car. EA is going to provide more entertainment than I bargained for.

I'm at a loss for what some folks expected out of ACE, let alone an early access that they couldn't have made more clear was limited in scope and content. 5 solid tracks and a healthy mix of racing and road cars...what exactly did people expect Assetto Corsa to be? So far it's entirely on-brand.

The whole point of Kunos trickle feeding us content is to get people talking before it comes out. Obviously what they want to do is get people feeding into the excitement about release, but thats always a tricky balance as with partial information people make assumptions. They could have told us all of this in one go, it’s not like they don’t know what the first few tranches of content will be. Or they could say nothing and let us all wait for release to find out but that doesn’t build as much hype.

Whether they have managed this process well will be proved out over the next week. If they show a bunch of race cars of various types and eras some people who were not feeling it will get hyped as it’s starting to show the stuff they like. If its another week of road cars those people are quite likely to be a bit disappointed.

If you were doing the AC Evo marketing and you read these forums you would have thought if they had a bunch of race cars to announce they would have done so by now. Or they had a plan and regardless of what people are saying the race car announcements will make up the majority of the next car sets. Marketing and comms for alot of sims seems to leave a lot to be desired.
