Gran Turismo 7 is due another update in late February or early March 2025, and as usual, Producer Kazunori Yamauchi teased a handful of upcoming cars ahead of the release.

As February 2025 nears its end, it is time for another Gran Turismo 7 update. And as always when there is a new version to be released for the PlayStation racing game juggernaut, Producer Kazunori Yamauchi released a teaser image to get the community guessing about new cars. This time, a trio of new vehicles looks set to join the roster "next week", so likely still in February.

The silhouettes of the shown cars did get the speculation ball rolling, although it seems hard to pinpoint what exactly the cars are - except that they certainly are no high performance or race cars.

What cars are in the next Gran Turismo 7 update?

In the front left of the teaser image, a boxy car, likely a hatchback, can be seen. While some guesses went towards a Mk1 or Mk2 Volkswagen Golf, the more likely option seems to be a Peugeot 205. The car was built between 1983 and 1998 and even served as the basis for Peugeot's Group B entry dubbed 205 T16 E2 in its final iteration raced in the 1986 WRC season.

Meanwhile, the car in the front right of the image looks less boxy and a bit more sporty, and while some thought this to be a Mazda MX5, other guesses point to a BMW Z4 to probably be the car in question. More specifically, the shape of the hood hints at a first-generation model of the car as it was built between 2002 and 2008. Additionally, it looks like there is no roof on the car, meaning it should be a convertible that GT7 players will get to drive.

Finally, the car in the back is more of a transporter or truck, it would seem. While the silhouette and the vehicle being shown in the background makes it hard to gauge its size relative to the other two cars, many Gran Turismo 7 fans seem to have figured that it is a Mercedes Unimog. This utility vehicle can trace its roots all the way back to 1949 and has been used for various tasks throughout the decades, be it fire brigades, armies, or for agricultural work. The teased vehicle could be a 406 series Unimog, built between 1963 and 1989.

There is always so much more than just a couple cars in new updates, can't wait to see what else we get! ❤️

The Puegot 205 T16 in the snow in the mountains around Lake Louise is already so much fun! More frenchies can only be more awesome! 🥖 👩‍🍳 💋

Last night was great fun slicing up the ice and snow.

Don't want to be that guy, but I'll be that guy. GT7 is in dire need of new race cars, not this.

I love the cars that they've been adding, they're really interesting and I love that they're shining the spotlight on cool forgotten gems, but this is a track racer, not Forza Horizon.
Most of these cars will be driven once or twice as a meme and then forgotten for the rest time. Forza Horizon usually has engine swaps that can make these cars more viable for racing and of course you then have the freedom of an open world map with open world activities.
Forza Motorsport, for as bad as it is as a game and competitor to GT7, has at least been adding modern race cars and that's really nice to see.

So much for "KAZ IS COOKING!" and the food more often than not comes out unsavoury.

How about, crazy idea, they instead make a proper single player mode and remove the need to be always online on their crap servers ? Because guess what, once they shut down the servers you have no more game. And there is no single player in GT7 to speak of.

All forced online games for non online relevant functionality should be criminal. :devilish:

Evo, GT7, even iceWaiting when doing maintenance to take a game away is inexcusable. 75% of racers race offline, or only at LAN gatherings, because racing is absolutely the most critically dependent game/sim on latency. and online with ~50ms is like going from 1000fps to 20fps. literally and figuratively. ⏩

Racing games with out offering LAN racing and abilities to own your data/telemetry/replays seem like something the entire racing community should not tolerate. Like all ~15,000,000 Gran Turismo 7 player base needs to demand the game they bought is theirs and the data is theirs as well. Data theft and preventing owners from being able to access and backup their data seems like a GDPR violation as well as other data ownership criminal acts.
