In the latest release across the Project Motor Racing social media channels comes the illustrious, and painfully British, Morgan Aero 8. A true legend coming from the GTR 2 days.

As we build up to the Project Motor Racing release date, more and more content is being slowly drip-fed to the sim racing community. The latest drip from the Straight4 Studios tap of knowledge is a wedge of British engineering history: the Morgan Aero 8.

The car is well-known to Straight4 Studios and fans of GTR 2, with the car featuring in the GT3 equivalent class in that title, as the game now pads out its returning car list from the glory days, it is great news to have this unique GT car back on our screens for 2025!

Racing heritage

Worldwide, the Morgan Aero 8 participated in 111 events between 2002 and 2010, with 58 finishes recorded and 34 retirements, resulting in a finishing ratio of 52% once the non-starts are accounted for across the entire competitive run of the Aero 8.

Britain, unsurprisingly, was where the Aero 8 saw the majority of its success, with it appearing most frequently in period at Silverstone, Brands Hatch, and Donington Park. The Aero 8 took its one and only overall win in the FIA European GT3 Championship at Silverstone in 2009, just a year before the car was discontinued.

What do you think about the Morgan Aero 8 returning to our screens within Project Motor Racing, and which other cars would you want to see make a return from GTR 2? Let us know in the comments down below!

Woohoo, my mate had the road going version of this which I’ve driven and I’ve had a couple of passenger laps in a race car version. At last I can now be the absolute one hundred percent dick head expert on the physics of this entire sim :)

GTR2 ??????????? ....... in 2026....... :cautious:
Yup, it's what many have been asking for, however it won't suit everybody, so theose that don't want it can have iRacing, GranTurismo, LMU, ACE, F1-25, Ams2... there's tons.

@Nigel Mansell, I'm not sure it's going to arrive in 25 (it'd be nice if it did though) but 26 seems reasonable, I just hope that it doesn't get rushed by the accounts department for a christmas release!

Hell yeh! Loved this car back in the day, can't wait to see how this game pans out.

I hope they can make the chase cam as good as in P:CARS again. And if AMS2 has controller support that good, its up to them to make it competent on the new engine.

Theyre doing an official reveal 29th April i think the article from last week said?
Yeah, and using the 'EVO' reveal as a timeline with EVO planning to release at the tail end of the year it's probably a 26 release for Project Motor Racing.
But we'll know when they tell us :)
