Project Motor Racing is lining up on the grid, and on April 29, more than screenshots will be shown - the reveal of the upcoming sim is set to happen within weeks.

News on Project Motor Racing have picked up again recently, although mostly in the form of screenshots. As is evident from the comment sections here on OverTake, the community is more than eager to learn more about the game - and their patience will soon be rewarded.

@Michel Wolk and I went to Switzerland as developer Straight4 Studios and Publisher GIANTS Software offered insight into PMR - unfortunately we cannot share much yet, but watch this space as well as our YouTube channel on April 29 for more info. There are quite a few interesting things coming up!

We also met some interesting guests at the event, such as YouTubers Random Callsign, GamerMuscle, or Champion Joe, plus a certain Johnny Herbert some of you may or may not have heard of - another reason to keep an eye out for our article and video once the Project Motor Racing unveiling is happening.

Until then, let us know your questions you might have regarding PMR in the comments below! Some of them may be answered on April 29 already, and for those that are not, we will be looking to get the answers for you.

What do you want to know about Project Motor Racing? Let us know in the comments and join the discussion in our PMR forum!

Project Cars single player opponents did not use the player car physics. They'd unrealistically pass you in bends, whilst you drove flat out. How will this be fixed? Will they use our driving physics?

Can Giants game engine allow you to build good performing graphics, that don't continually add details whilst driving right in front of our eyes like some modern sims? I mean things like textures or effects on an armco barrier or shading/detail in trees popping in when they are close to them.

Will the engine allow low latency on a gaming laptop and XBox pad? Can you ensure driving via pad is as fast as lapping with a wheel?

In Project Cars, not all race cars were created equal. There were large differences, some being great, others were more MEH. How will you ensure fans get top quality?

Is PMR going to target 60fps as an absolute minimum in an AI race running on minimum specs? Some gamers (see Steam) do have old PC's.

Do replays lock to match the same framerate that we see whilst we are driving the actual laps live?

Will depth-of-field blur be mandatory, or can users disable it?

In Project Cars, unrealistic "masks" were placed on cars in certain weather/lighting. This stood out, and ruined the look IMHO. How does the Giants engine tackle this? This "mask" affected even the shadow/black areas of the car, floor shadow and tires. It just looked wrong. My guess is, that it was an easy inexpensive way to arrive at the outcome years ago.

I'd like to know more about the Tuscan 400R's pop up headlights... I don't remember ever seeing pop ups on any Tuscan.
I do like that multi light look though, it's so agressive and Alien.
I know right :roflmao: I think they got it wrong. I've never seen a Tuscan with pop up headlights.

Please let my 6700k, rtx3070, 16gb triple screen 5760x1080 75hz rig be able to run it well.
Farming sim doesnt run amazingly on my 3070, a lot of screen tearing and stuttering so unless they iron out them issues im wary. That being said it could be a game issue.

Yeah, it doesn't matter though, to be truthfull, I don't know what those headlights are known as, like with the Cortina MkI 'Ban the bomb' tail lights, Jaguar XJ12 'Pepperpot' wheels... but what do we call the Tuscan and (late) Cerbera headlights?

Is the plan releasing the game and disappearing? Will the clutch be fully functionnal.this time? Will the physics be transmited to the FFB this time or shall we wait several years for a great modder to restore the FFB for the community? Is the studio willing to pay people to fix its game in case it decides to abandon it? Shall we have to start a race with AI opponents several times until we are not crashed by them in the first 2 corners? Will these AIs perform consistently between tracks or shall we have to try to race several times in order to set the AI difficulty ?

I am looking forward to this new sim as a fan of older content. Will probably wait for 6 months before purchasing.
The resentment on this forum to former Project Cars creators is weird. If the game looks good when other people review the game, then buy it.If you still have lingering issues with AI from the original Project Cars game 10 years ago then its probably not for you.More healthy to be positive and back what you enjoy than drag other projects down.Judge games on their merit.

NGL, we've seen loads on cars, but nothing on Tracks.

Like yeah we are seeing some awesome cars, but nothing about the tracks.

I first read “Project Motor Racing Set For April '29 Reveal” and thought “Oh no, that's an awful long time until then...” :D

I really hope the focus is on historic cars and tracks and in the best case complete seasons, that would be great. It would be a change from the monotony of modern GT cars that every sim currently offers. I for one would very much welcome it. Maybe something like Grand Prix Legends was back then.

Plus, of course, good driving physics and FFB and hopefully good AI because as we all know good online racing is not that easy to find if you don't have much time for it during the week.

I would like to know what kind of cars/categories we could expect in the game, apart from the 04-05 GTs that they've shown during the last months.

Personally I just hope it's not too many and they have depth over breadth in content. Does seem a strange mix so far, North American tracks with mid 2000s FIA GT content.

Fingers crossed there's a good single player game in here with the ability to use content how we see fit.
