Another day, another early 2000s GT beast is confirmed to be coming to Project Motor Racing: the illustrious TVR Tuscan T400R!

This Blackpool-built monster, initially destined just for Le Mans, saw some national success in the British GT Championship before being shipped off to France and the USA to compete in Le Mans and the American Le Mans Series, respectively.

With three wins under its belt, the Tuscan might not have always been the fastest car on the circuit, but it was undoubtedly one of the most iconic! The melodic straight-six under the elongated bonnet of the T400R gave it one of the most recognisable audible tones in GT racing of the early 2000s, not to mention the incredible shape of the car!

In classic Project Motor Racing style, multiple images have been released, showcasing what appears to be the quarter panel of the TVR Tuscan T400R. If you were to look past that, the car closely following behind pulls the proverbial curtain back to reveal another T400R following behind.

In the same release, they also confirmed the inclusion of a 2004 and 2005 GT Class for Project Motor Racing. These details are few and far between, meaning it is hard to judge how much content from those years will be included at launch and throughout the title's lifecycle.

That's funny, I was only just driving the Asetto Corsa 'Dewalt' 400R at Donington this morning, and I could not see the apex of the tight right handers as the roll cage and cushioning was in the way, it might be different for VR users, I hope PMR can resolve that for their version, I loved that car, well all TVR's actually, but that one was so loud and rasping, I remember being at Donington 2003 and there were two or three and for some reason the sounds were different... wonderful.

Fun fact, Shane Lynch, (boyz own) lead the race before the pitstops including fastest lap, good peddler that boy, nice lad too!

This game is looking pretty nice. I hope the handling is good. Racing has changed a lot mostly for safety. Since in sims danger isnt a thing can't we just get legacy racing content that was crazy hard to tame and fast as snot?
I asked him about Group C presence on his X profile, but he didn't answer. I hope we could see some prototypes and open wheel formulas as well.

Given that the game is focusing on FIA GT 2004/5 then i really doubt any of that will appear.
Back when it was GTRevival they showed a Jaguar XJR9 and a Nissan R90CK. They also had a lot of Group C in Project Cars 2 so my guess is that they have all the necessary expertise to add that category to PMR.

Thats fair, those models from them screenshots look insanely detailed too compared to the pc2 cars. The way i saw it was like they were currently focusing soley on the 2004/2005 GT field

Detail lacking from what I seen of pics so far .......but WIP so excused.
Other things hiding behind that fairy dust blurring on back ground trees etc.
No excuse for silly sized little screenshots unless you got something to hide.

Frack, put GTR2 @ 4K in that size screen shot and it looks 2025 too :roflmao:

The website has some decent sized images.

I love how they simulate the wear and tear in the cars' materials and paints. It is further adds to the realism.
I really hope PMR will see the light with all the features promised.

I know it's horses for courses but I would MUCH rather have a focused, pared down title that includes just one series (but multiple years in that series are fine). I really do not like all this "Jack of all trades, master of none", attitude a lot of sim developers have these days. Everything is just a bit naff and under cooked, which is a shame because there is obvious talent/tech know-how at a lot of racing game devs nowadays.

Considering the tracks will be of that era then I'm guessing they could and will add classic Prototype, Formula and IndyCar from that era as well. A bit like AMS2 where they are replicas when it comes to Formula and IndyCar - but better more detailed ones I guess. Might even get Super Tourers/ Touring cars and classic Road Cars from back then with some of it being DLC I presume. I'm thinking a modern GTR2 mixed with Race 07 style DLC but more varied.

I'm not expecting them to provide or sell any extra DLC of the latest GT3 cars for example, but, modders MAY fill that gap as they have mentioned modding will be allowed - if no modding no big loss though as there are already riches from that era to supply. And if it ends up being only the GT from the early/mid noughties and nothing else I would be happy with that.

BUT, gotta add though Triple Screen and a dedicated server (and LAN support) is essential imo with the latter ensuring multiplayer preservation and a LOT less lag when racing locally. Ian my bro', both are ESSENTIAL - a consumer backlash going on these days dude about paid for software losing features when publishers/developers shut software down.

Anyway, can't wait.

A while back on the Straight4 website they ran a poll about what categories you wanted to see in the game.

Late 90's supertouring was the most voted.
That could have been feelers for future DLC content, I seem to remember also that '71 Lemans' was also quite high on the list, so if they are future considerations then the rules will have to be very open to configuration, a good thing for users and modders alike!
