KW Studios seems to have big plans for 2025, as it teased the Lamborghini SC63 for RaceRoom just after launching a big update for the sim.

A sneaky teaser on Instagram and Threads hints at a brand-new RaceRoom car: The Lamborghini SC63 LMDh looks to be on its way to the sim. "Devs will kill us for this sneak peak [sic!]!" reads a post and story that shows the rear of a car model, which clearly sports the unique shape of Lamborghini's Hypercar entry.

Thus far, RaceRoom is more focused on Touring Cars and GTs, but it does have its share of prototypes as well. Its P1 class features the 2011 Audi R18 LMP1 alongside two fictional entries, Group C cars are represented via a Joest-built version of the Porsche 962C and the Nissan R90CK, and smaller prototypes such as the Praga R1 are also present.

Now, it looks like KW Studios is looking to step into the current-day Hypercar age with the SC63. The class is immensely popular, as the manufactuerer interest in WEC and IMSA clearly shows. The latter is where Lamborghini currently runs its LMDh competitor after pulling out of WEC in both the Hypercar and LMGT3 classes following the 2024 season.

Lamborghini SC63 In RaceRoom?

The SC63 debuted just last year, but struggled for results in both series it ran in. Its best result was a seventh place at the 2024 12 Hours of Sebring in the hands of Matteo Cairoli, Andrea Caldarelli and Romain Grosjean, while 10th at Le Mans was the best the car - then run by Iron Lynx - could achieve in WEC. In 2025, it was the very first car to retire in the 24 Hours of Daytona, suffering from overheating problems after just 34 laps.

Nonetheless, the the twin-turbo V8-powered car is a spectacluar sight, both due to its aggressive shape and the bright-green-and-black livery. It will be interesting to see if the eventual addition of the car to RaceRoom might also mean a full implementation of its hybrid system. The Formula RaceRoom X-22, modeled after an F1 car based on the new-for-2022 regulations, does feature adjustable engine maps and MGU-K modes, so we would assume that the Lamborghini SC63 will also feature these elements.

That's... weird. It was said a few times Lambo licenses cost a fortune. This program was never stable from the beginning and things only got worse. I'll be surprised if they race this car anywhere next year.

Great, if
- it has a grid of suitable opponents
- decent simulation of energy management
- brings a new dash display tech, instead of the same 4 generic outdated displays reused for everything.

Otherwise, not interested. I was talking about the vision of R3E in a previous thread. This, if there are going to be like 2 modern prototypes total like they often do with new classes, will be a flop, especially looking at the alternatives available today. R3E does a few things very well, but instead of doubling down on it to become its thing, it wants to be everything without the content and systems to support it. Hopefully, they have a better plan this time...

As anything kn RRE, I'm sure it will be a great car to drive but I'm not sure about this category. Maybe featuring these modern cars is really attracting players, so I am not judging. Personnally I would like more Group C cars or more older prototypes to compete with the existing ones, but they may be not as attractive as a LMDh. If it makes KW earning money to continue the development of the game, I'm fully ok with that choice, as all users benefit from further developments.

I love to see RaceRoom developing, we had a sneak peek on the BMW V8 Hypercar last year, now the Lamborghini... seems like it might be time to get some VRP again in the next weeks.
However, when it comes to the overall Prototype/WEC experience, nothing can beat LMU right now and I don't see this changing in the future either. If you want to drive Hypercars, get yourself LMU and you will be happy, I would almost promise that.

As a huge RaceRoom fan, I still see a whole lot of potential in this Sim and I would love to hear about the progress in the projects they already promised they were working on, something that will make my driving experience better with the content I already own:
- correct dashboards for all cars
- update to dx12
- day and night cycle
- dynamic weather
- new UI (not very important to me, but anyways - in the GridTalk they said something about Q2 this year)
- improved multiplayer (will probably come with the new UI)
Lots of people are not starting with RaceRoom because the lack of these features make it still seem like an outdated title - why aren't they working on this as a top priority? New content is nothing without players buying it. And at the moment, we are even struggling to reach a 1000 player peak at the weekends. This is very sad.

As @Kevin Troschinski already said, RaceRoom should put more effort into their strengths. We have a lot of very good mods for touring cars and historic racecars in AC, but lots of people (including myself) might prefer some first-party content without bugs and with official events to participate in.

@OverTake.gg - What about a survey on content that should be implemented in RaceRoom? Just in case you do, here are some of my ideas:
- more historic DTM content like the missing tracks for 1992 and 1995 seasons
- Early 2000's Prototypes (Peugeot 908 - take my money) and GTs - just in case LMU isn't going in that direction
- completing car classes like ADAC GT Masters with the old Lamborghini and Ferrari, more Group C cars like a Mazda 787 or a Mercedes C9
- touring car classes like STW and BTCC
- Japan's incredible GT cars (Nismo, Supra, etc.) that some of us might know from their childhood (or present) GranTurismo time
- additional famous tracks like Mugello, Phillip Island, Road Atlanta, Fuji, Le Mans, Misano...
- Nordschleife-Experience with Dacia Logan, Dodge Viper, VW Beetle, Glickenhaus SCG003, Opel Manta, Mini Cooper etc. together with the almost-road-cars that add this 24h-atmosphere

Instead of putting money into licences for content that has nothing to go with it why not put the money and time into bringing the sim up to standard. It's old, out dated and the content is becoming more and more random which just screams of desperation to keep relevant which it just isn't anymore. It's not even the best at touring cars. I will get accused of being a fanboy when I say this but the btcc cars in rf2 are so much more enjoyable to drive than any of the tcr/wtcc stuff in raceroom. And well super tourers the mods from VRC and Pm3dm for AC are arguably better than the efforts of KW Studios

the reality is that rain is waste of time and resources since everybody wants it and then avoid the lobbies, lmao
as example - iR was by far most popular without it when others had it and now iR push the rain into every special event and people are little bit fed up especially since some cars handling is still heavily off during rain conditions
I personally hate rain and night so I don't care
UI with multiplayer coming in Q2, dx12 was announced too but probably will take months
the only thing I care about beside these 2 are the correct dashboards which are on the list to do but they need to replace whole tech they use for this since currently it's in scaleform which is discontinued and that's why they don't create new ones so it probably also will take some time

I'm not that surprised about Lambo since they recently added their first car from this brand means Huracan GT3, also not surprised with BMW which was teased few months ago because they have plenty of their cars + we probably can expect at least Porsche in this class too

the last update is not well recieved, the players numbers are still very low. Not very hyped to buy raceroom content at full price, particulary when you buy a Classic Silverstone day one and the performance fix is a few months later....

Don't want to be that guy.. I love RR and in my opinion nothing beats offline racing in RR! But every time I race I imagine how much better and versatile would be if we have night racing and rain...
P.S. Lausitzring DTM 2012 while raining 😎
Won't happen as R3E game engine is based on isimotor 2.0 game engine, the same game engine used by rFactor 1 and AMS 1. For rFactor 2 the game engine was upgraded to isimotor 2.5 for weather and d/n cycle.
I dont see R3E being re written for isimotor 2.5

I would say that people, who are into these cars, already have LMU or iR. And why would they drive RRE instead? I like where RRE is going with the unconventional updates - ITC, STW, Drift, Head-to-head… something that you only have elsewhere as mods, not as official content. That is not the case for Lambo tho

It has already been done years ago, why won't that be possible?

They need to stop buying licences to series and vehicles. Take it on the chin and use that money to retain previous licences and offer them as free content, then maybe you could build a player base that would buy content. Whoever is making decisions is a moron and probably should be replaced.
