I have a dream, that of making one long career as an F1 driver in the late 1990s early 2000s on Automobilista 2. But, one problem, there was a 1997, 1999 and 2000 skinpacks, but no 1998!
Until now!
This is my very first skinpack for Automobilista 2, which brings the 1998 Formula 1 season to this great sim. This skinpack includes all 1998 teams and drivers, and include Mastercard Lola as the 12th and final team in a "what if" scenario.
The 1998 season was the first season with the set of rules that would define the first decade of the 2000s. Grooved tires, slimer cars, etc. It is the season that saw the fight between Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen, who won his first championship that year.
As said before, Mastercard Lola is included to fill the last team slot on the grid. Driving for Lola are Vincenzo Sospiri, and Jan Magnussen. Jos Verstappen is in the second Stewart seat, and since Magnussen took part in nearly half the season, it made sense to add him as a driver, where he fill the seat vacated by Rosset, who is with Tyrrell as in real life.
This is my first attempt at completing a skinpack for this game. I'm very proud of the cars, but not so much of the helmets. They are garbage, I will admit. So, if anyone want to make a new set of helmets for this pack, then you are more than free to do so
As for the AI file, this is also my first attempt at making one, so the performances of the drivers may not be entirely accurate to real life.
