WATCH: NASCAR 25 - What We Know So Far

Developed by iRacing and Monster Games, NASCAR 25 is taking the green flag later this year. What to expect from the title, though? Join @Emily Jones for a rundown of what we know so far!

After a few years without a dedicated game released for the United States' biggest racing series, NASCAR 25 will have players racing stock cars again later this year. As iRacing and Monster Games have released a few dev diaries over the past months, we have learned a number of things about the upcoming game.

While there is no confirmed release date yet and fall as the aimed-for launch period, Emily felt like it would be a good time to take a look at everything we know about NASCAR 25 so far.

NASCAR 25 PC Release

A slight correction to what is said in the video: A PC release for NASCAR 25 has indeed been confirmed, namely in the third dev diary video released in late February that also details the game's career mode.

Other questions regarding NASCAR 25 include whether or not dirt racing will return, if 'every driver' as mentioned in the official promo material really means every driver in the various series that are included, and what tech and detail might transfer from the main iRacing sim.

What do you expect from NASCAR 25? Let us know in the comments below and join the discussion in our forums!

If you had listened well to the dev diary you know that Nascar 25 is coming to PC
They said it literally 😉

Yeah in fairness, they were being very coy about it for a long time so it was pretty uncertain for a while.

That's right, after the announcement of Nascar 25 it was not entirely clear whether it would appear on the PC. But it has since been confirmed that it will appear on PC. Perhaps also a marketing strategy to use this game as an introduction to their iRacing platform.

People expecting this to be full sim are going to be bitterly disappointed. The menus and pre race menu in the car looks exactly like nascar heat/nascar ignition (yes i know ignition was made by msgames but it used an updated version of heats menu system). It's made by monster games still in partnership with iracing just like World of Outlaws. It will just be heat with refined graphics and handling but definitely won't be a sim. Nascar want the game to make mass sales in all markets and making it a sim would prevent that.

I doubt it. World of Outlaws is on pc with the iracing logo plastered all over it but the sales haven't been anywhere near amazing. Also playing it, it's nothing like iracing it's just an updated version of tony stewarts dirt racing game.

Good point. But people outside America are more familiar with Nascar.
We will see where the asphalt instead of only dirt tracks this title 'Nascar 25' will take them. And I also don't expect the same level of handling that iRacing offers but I think it will be better than the Heat series since Dale Jr, is closely involved with this years title.

I frankly do not care what the physics will be if full arcade, half sim or full sim, i want it to just be a GOOD GAME first and foremost. They have to nail the AI and career mode depth. Also iRacing devs never called the game "arcade" at any point, that is just the perception for some reason that just because it will also be available on consoles just as PC that it should be arcade ?? Best to just wait for them to finally show what the game will be rather than assume anything.

Also those three Dev Diaries that came out over the course of 9 months might as well been just a single one because they showed nothing at all of the game. That has me worried more than anything that the release date of "Fall" is just about 5 months away yet they are releasing just teasers once every 3 months with zero gameplay.

I want it to be somewhere in between as long as it's not overly frustrating like nascar heat can be in terms of there being either far too much grip or absolutely none then I think it will be alright.

They did the same with world of outlaws you hear barely anything of it then bang release time comes and you know no real in depth details about the game

The UI is dated and it's not gonna be anything groundbreaking but for me the important thing is World of Outlaws is really fun on a wheel even if it is a simcade. The career mode is good enough so we'll get that I think at the bear minimum.

I never subscribed to iracing, but if these guys are making a nascar game , i may be tempted to purchase it.
i just hope it may be a modern nascar 2003.

Iracing not presenting stage racing, although I really dislike that, isn't a sim (and I didn"t know avout that till this article). So which game is more a sim than the other? Just a question of personal priorities. I dislike the way you took control of the car in the heat games and I hope it will be refined in this game.

I never said i like the way heat handled. They had far too much grip and felt weightless.

I hope it's a good NASCAR experience. As for physics, NASCAR is already a little cartoonish to start with, so even it's a bit of a simcade, that won't be a big problem for me.

Ideally, it will be like NASCAR racing 2003, updated to modern standards.

At the same time, it's not as if Iracing is a hyper-realistic simulation, I must say ^^. This game is a huge joke and a big scam above all.
Iracing is nothing more than a game between SIMCAD and basic simulation, a bit like ACC in the end.

It seems that World of Outlaws was not coming to PC. However, I now play it on my sim rig, so I believe we will see this on PC as well.
I do have some concerns, though. Will this NASCAR game feature rubberbanding like World of Outlaws? Can they at least improve the AI to match the quality of the older NASCAR Racing games?
However, we need to be realistic. This game won't be a true sim racer. Many fans of NASCAR games still enjoy titles like NASCAR Racing 2003, NASCAR Thunder, and NASCAR Racing 4, which set a relatively low bar for entry.
Another concern is that NASCAR Heat was a **** game. Will iRacing have enough influence to create a better product?
