REG Simulations continues its work on PISTA Motorsport: The studio just released update 0.6.6.0 to its sim celebrating Argentina's racing scene, including physics improvements, new cars and a new track.
More to play with in PISTA Motorsport: Developer REG Simulations has released a new update for the Early Access sim that expands the car roster and gives sim racers a new circuit to run them on: The Autódromo Provincia de La Pampa near Toay in central Argentina makes its debut in update 0.6.6.0.
Additionally, two classic cars join the roster: The Chevy Serie 2 and the Ford Falcon Sprint are relatively tame vehicles when it comes to their specs, outputting 180 bhp (Chevy) and 166 bhp (Falcon) respectively. As they are both rather heavy, with the Chevy weighing in at 1,495 kg and the Falcon at 1,281 kg, they should prove to be a handful to drive.
Furthermore, REG also announced the arrival of a car customization option in the update - admittedly, we have not tried that yet, but will look into it to see what this actually entails. It seems likely that the customization will focus on visual aspects of the cars.
That aside, the studio has also improved and adjusted the physics of several cars, and a new exterior sound system also debuts for PISTA Motorsport.
In late February, there were also hints and screenshots that made it seem like drag racing and even freeroaming or open world capabilities were planned for PISTA - could they be arriving in the next update? We will keep our eyes peeled, of course.

Drag Racing & Freeroam In The Next Update?
Perhaps even more interestingly, REG's hint at the next update is even more interesting, though. According to the studio, it is set to be "the biggest one yet and will bring a whole new mode of play". This could refer to multiple things - singleplayer AI racing and a multiplayer mode are both still absent, for instance. In late February, there were also hints and screenshots that made it seem like drag racing and even freeroaming or open world capabilities were planned for PISTA - could they be arriving in the next update?
