After successfully releasing Tokyo Xtreme Racer into early access, developer Genki has released version .0.11.0, bringing with it a roster of new additions and changes, such as a detailed photo mode, stretched tyres, visual sparking effects for when you hit walls and an overhaul of the livery editor and stickers.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer was first launched in January, and no significant updates have been added since then. The developers' active addition of these major features is an excellent sign for this game's furiously passionate fanbase!
The new Photo Mode UI in action.
The photo mode and its new UI are consistent with other arcade racing games' efforts. However, the camera movement and stability could undoubtedly be improved. All these things will be ironed out in future updates and patches.
New livery editor tools and stickers.
The new livery editor adds stickers, changes some UI sections, and allows stickers to be placed on the glass and windscreen—an integral part of Japanese car culture and JDM-inspired cultures worldwide!
It is not just the stickers and livery editor that have seen some love. The new stretched tyres are a welcome addition for those stance boys who prefer their car to scrape along the floor and be utterly inoperable about 50 KPH... Do not fear! These new stretched tyres are cosmetic and will not affect the car's driving, handling or drifting abilities.
