Le Mans Ultimate is starting 2025 with a long list of fixes and adjustments: Patch #2 for Update #3 rolls out on January 21 and is aiming to make LMU a more streamlined experience.

While WEC fans will still have to wait for a bit over a month until the 2025 season kicks off, Le Mans Ultimate is a good way of getting that endurance racing fix with a full grid of Hypercars and part of the 2024 LMGT3 grid. The latter was introduced as 2024 drew to a close - and while Studio 397 and Motorsport Games do not start 2025 with a content-heavy update like this, a new patch does improve numerous smaller elements.

Officially called Update #3 Patch #2, the new version will be deployed on January 21, 10:15 UTC. It tackles minor, but annoying issues like the tire selection resetting when an auto pit request occurred as well as several other UI bugs, players getting disqualified at the end of the final stint in Co-op mode, some fine tuning of Interlagos (which was part of the December update), and more.

VR users in particular will be happy to see a number of issues in this are of the sim being tackled, such as the game crashing when changing the resolution while in VR, the elimination of duplicate VR HUD & Menu Scale options, or a black screen occurring in the VR headset only when changing the game display to another monitor.

All things considered, the list of fixes and adjustments is quite long for this patch - find the full changelog below!

Great news, LMU developed and still is developing to be such a painstakingly detailed experience of WEC season.
Complete grid, full track roster, 99% replicating all of the championship rules and intricacies. What a package. WEC experience wet dream.
Wishing all of my endurance aficionados friends a whale of a time.

Anyone else experiencing almost no ffb on low speed corners? Maybe it has to do with moza bases? The only problem i have with lmu

So what's left to fix / add before it could possibly leave EA and be a full game? (Legit curiosity)

i select to start in 10 position but it always puts me first when i go to race screen . this just started this week .

Maybe I am in the minority here but can we get an offline season?!!!
Waiting for Offline Championship

This.
Another developer that moved to online only for some features without ever telling people beforehand it's going to happen. It was actually promised here in the early access pitch. Somehow I doubt they'll deliver. I hope I'm wrong.

I would say it's getting there but there are still a few hickups here and there and it surely needs more offline features to really sell it as a WEC title at full price. Not just that it lacks an offline season mode but stuff like FCY, SC and hyperpole are clearly needed. For online racing it also lacks driver swaps.

Thanks for your feedback.

As a relatively new rF2 fan, it's absolutely no surprise to hear that FCY's aren't implemented in LMU yet as they seem broken in rF2 (doesn't green flag when it should). So without hyperpole I presume there isn't any (full) qualifying either?

If the core driving and racing experience is already there and the title just lacks those last few features, they really would benefit in getting LMU's base game fixed and complete / out of EA very soon as ACE will progress to a point when no other title will stand a chance of success for the rest of 2025.

I believe the starting procedure needs fixing asap. The number of DTs after race start is way too high.

Hmm, hard to defend that one. Well, I guess Raceroom isn't trying to accurately & fully replicate an entire series like LMU or ACC and just provides bare-bones, er, everything. Not a great defence that. Still love the game though.
Me too, I like Raceroom, even if, by now, it does feel like a game from the 2010's. The studio is supposed to update the game engine significantly, I hope it will be the case.

Remembering the last time I tested FCY/SC in rF2 it worked at a basic level. The problem is that they tinkered also with oval rules wich caused all sorts of issues before S397 took over from ISI. In theory the engine can do alot of stuff allready. A rather obvious issue is that AI races to the S/F line to catch up with the SC. For WEC it's a bit more tricky though. At Le Mans there are two SCs and you also need to implement Code 80 and slow zones. Hyperpole is propably a bit easier to implement and would also make sense for online racing.

In regards to ACE I wouldn't be too worried either. That title has a long way to go before it offers WEC with the same attention to detail, quality, content, features and depth as LMU, if at all. Focus seems to be on roadcars and getting stuff working at a basic level at this point so there sure is room for several titles to coexist.
