It's finally here! The latest addition to the Bugbear Entertainment lineup, Wreckfest 2, is out, and until April 3rd, it's 20% off!

Begin your journey through the full-contact racing world by breaking the rules and just about everything else! The Developer of Wreckfest 2, Bugbear Entertainment, has rebuilt the original Wreckfest title into its true-to-life physics simulation engine.

Wreckfest 2 features even higher crash fidelity, a deeper armour system and a broad and more advanced version of the original damage system. This will deliver more intricate component damage simulation and many more improvements across the game.

Included Content

Whilst certainly not a fully fleshed-out title yet, Wreckfest 2 offers a decent amount of fun in this early access state. Currently, four cars are available to use, and all of them can be painted and customized to your heart's content.

A further four circuits are included for you to race or use as a demolition derby area. The choice is yours! The game modes, whilst minimal, allow you to search for multiplayer games as well as single-player races with up to twenty-four AI cars.

Like its predecessor, the original Wreckfest, the newWreckfest 2 will continue evolving throughout the early access period. New and returning content and features will be regularly rolled out to the masses. Bugbear and THQ Nordic have stated that they are all about making this a game for the players, shaped by the players. Time will tell if that promise stands.

Further down the early access timeline, Mod Support will be added! When this is eventually added, you can really mess with Wreckfest 2 by installing various mods from the Steam Workshop. No further details have been released on whether mod support will expand beyond the Steam Workshop to third-party websites.

I would be interested if there were better options for people using sim rigs to play. Like the option to disable the in-game wheel and a proper dash camera or even option to move the in-game seat.

Ask me drives like a turd on wheels, lasted 5 minutes, don't waste your time and dosh.
What do you seriously expect? It's not a serious sim. It's a bloody fun game with the physics leaning towards sim rather than arcade. Plus it's early access day 1 it's well worth £20 would rather pay £20 for this than the £20 I wasted on AC Evo.

And from memory the first game was brilliant with a wheel so I don't see this one being any different down the line.

Well, aren't the cars in this particular genre of motorsport effectively turds on wheels? I mean you're not going to put a $1000,000 factory rally car that's tightly tuned into a wrecking event. You're going to put a $500 car on it's last legs into these kind of races.

Nope, IMO, the loose undefined handling actually makes it realistic, regardless of whether you enjoy it or not.

Exactly what i thought, i have zero experience driving actual folk race car but i think it would feel like on this game.

Bought it, tried to configure my wheel and pedals, failed to assign controls, and asked for a refund. No triple screen support either (which would make a big difference for this type of "racing"). It's a shame, it looks quite nice, but like this it's unplayable, so let's hope that gets fixed eventually.

I would say that what is available so far is a quaint update to the original game, There is so little content and features that I would consider the sorts of appraisals coming out of youtube to be a little bit beyond the source material.

I was always going to buy it, and the price is right, But I don't see much so far to get overly excited about, nether in whats been presented or whats on the horizon.

I had hoped for VR, But I would have been satisfied with working mirrors.

Its definitely Wreckfest, Will be interesting to see if it differentiates itself enough to maintain any momentum.
