After a wait of 16 months and the unfortunate news that the game will delayed until May 2026, Rockstar Games dropped the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI and we went looking for all the cars that are in it.

Grand Theft Auto, one of the juggernauts of the gaming industry of which the last entry in the series GTA V released all the way back in 2013. It has been a long time coming, but even after its first teaser dropped in December 2023 - amassing 250 million views in 24 hours - it was still uncertain when GTA VI would release.

After a tentative late 2025 release window was placed, the game has been delayed but now with a set release of May 26th 2026. To soften the blow, Rockstar Games have just released the first full trailer going more in depth on the lives of the two main characters, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval.

Yes, we may be a dedicated racing game website and strictly speaking, GTA 6 is not one of those, but it does have a heavy emphasis on cars. Plus, in GTA Online there are four open wheel cars that have tyre wear playing a factor in races.

So with all that being said, let's take a look at all the cars we can decipher in the second GTA 6 trailer.

GTA 6 Trailer 2 Cars

Starting off the trailer, we see the first of the two protagonists, Jason, getting visited by his landlord Brian, who is driving a massive pickup. The truck is a Vapid Caracara, which resembles a second generation Ford Raptor. Jason then drives off to run errands and is gawked at by the local ladies, one of whom is stood next to a Maibatsu Penumbra, modelled on a fourth generation Mitsubishi Eclipse.

On a highway, Jason is behind a load of pickups but also a blue sports car which is an Invetero Coquette, which even by not seeing it, the name gives away that it is a Chevrolet Corvette, specifically a C7 generation model. Of course, there are a few police cars since when you are living a criminal lifestyle, the law will always be following and one of the cars we spotted was a Bravado Buffalo STX, based on a 2015 Dodge Charger.

Then of course the shot we have for the header, featuring a car with wheel rims that stick out like Boudicea spikes. The car appears to resemble the Benefactor Schafter - based on a range of Mercedes saloon/sedan cars - but with a slightly different look compared to the Schafter that is found in the previous game.

For a game titled Grand Theft Auto, it appears that there will be plenty of that in the next game. Image: Rockstar Games

Behind that car are a bunch of very identifiable ones. There is the Bravado Banshee (2nd gen Dodge Viper), Pfister Growler (Porsche 718 Cayman) and the Emperor Vectre (facelifted Lexus RC F). Also, what most certainly resembles a Lamborghini Reuvelto, although such a car did not appear in a previous GTA game but perhaps safe to assume it will fall under the brand that most Lambos do in these games, Pegassi.

Speaking of which, Jason jumps from a motorcycle into the back of a moving truck where a car is being transported. Whether it is the same car or not, we cannot tell but the rear is distinctively one that looks like it is based on a Lamborghini as well.

The trailer ends with Lucia and Jason driving off in the same car they appear in from the first trailer, the Declasse Tulip which is based on a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu. However from official artwork, Jason's actual car would appear to be a ute that resembles a fifth generation Ford Ranchero with elements from a Holden HR ute. The only previous ute to appear in the GTA series was the Cheval Picador, and this ute has a Vapid badge, the GTA universe equivalent to Ford.

Grand Theft Auto VI will release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on May 26th 2026 (assuming there are no more delays), with no PC release confirmed just yet although some rumours hint at the game being available for PC as early as 2027.

What amazing was there in gta V? Honest question. GTA IV tech was amazing, but as far as I remember V, there was more stuff, more detailed, dumbed down physics, dumbed down systems and can't really remember amazing tech.
Other than the online mode, which has proven to be immensely popular, not too much, I'd say. And that's probably because both IV and V were released on the same console generation, so the jump between them could not have been that big.
With almost 13 years between V and VI, it doesn't seem entirely unrealistic that it'll launch on a brand-new console generation, essentially skipping two gens. That should mean a lot more hardware resources to use for making something stand out that much more.

Many games got released since GTA V in a similar open world urban setting, but none of them delivered such a cohesive and immersive package imo. And it holds up graphically to this day. I don't think it's a small feat. In the recently released edition ray tracing is also incredibly well optimized compared to other games. Sure it's not perfect, but it was way ahead of its time in some aspects.

Regarding VI, I am certainly excited about it, but I would be afraid to buy it on console where it's probably going to be 30 FPS locked. I avoid that mode, haven't played in 30 for a long long time, and I am not sure I could go back to it. We will see...

Licenced cars in the game? I thought car manufacturers didn't want to be involved with running people over and criminality? I did read some rumours that you won't be able to recklessly just go around murdering civilians in this one. Who knows, maybe with licenced cars you won't be able to mow people down.
each gta doesnt have real brands its just fictional brands like vapid , grotti , pegassi , bravado etc

i dont know if you all see it but in 2:05 a guy take photo with jason and lucia is this charles leclrec gta version 🤣 🤣 cause its looks the same

If the community wants it, I would be very happy to make an article delving in to what all the in-game brands are meant to represent

Unfortunately we are going to have to wait an extra year for a PC release :(
This is the fkedup part sadly. And then you try to be without "revealing" gameplay to yourself all that time. Like it was (at least on my side) with the RDR2. Fortunately have been able to build up patiency a lot during lifetime and things are in order in life, so not so bad. But i do hope the wait is going to be shorter still. Even tho my pc has to take its time after trailer 2 :cautious::speechless: . But Its good that they take their time, now when we saw what they are cooking. Already the differences between t1/t2 holy moly. This is THE next gen stuff. Now just fingers crossed, that life doesn't choose not to experience this 🤞Starting to be close on "end straight" for the possibilities to see new GTA's. Maybe 1-2 more who knows. Imagine now to be a young lad getting this as a first experience. A bit different than back in the day. Still glad that have been able to witness the whole journey from day one to here. Unbeliavable.. 🥲

yes but rockstar cant do it because licence cars is very expensive and the cars go booom so the real brands like ferrari , lambo , aston etc will not accept it and to be honest some cars in gta series are better than real life cars

Story mode will be 5 hours long, with the rest online. They don't make good offline modes anymore.

Is this the most expensive piece of digital entertainment that's ever been produced?

The trailer released yesterday was apparently recorded on a bog standard ps5 at 60fps so it bodes well that they've got every single graphic technique like dlss or console equivalent working perfectly for it to look and play great even on the standard lower spec console
