The next update for the early access of Assetto Corsa EVO is arriving in a few short days, with new cars confirmed including a racing car, a lightweight sports car and a classic and retro car from the same brand.

After we got an update from Kunos regarding the revising of the plan for the AC EVO release, we now have an idea of what content is definitely on its way to the sim in the future. Now we know when the next stage of that plan is releasing, with the next content update arriving on May 7th at 14:00 UTC.

Kunos revealed in a tweet that four new cars are getting added to the sim, and they are the Maserati MC20 GT2, Lotus Exige V6, Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA and the Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo Evoluzione.

That was not all, though: On the official Discord server, the studio announced an additional three cars and two tracks: The Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6, Mazda MX-5 (NA) and Honda NSX-R are also part of the update, whilst the tracks are the previously confirmed Circuit of the Americas and along with that, Donington Park.

Additionally, Kunos will be adding the open mode and career mode they spoke about in their most recent keynote. They also mention that "Step 2" for both VR and triple screen support will be added in, along with new special events, replay tools and gallery and a custom race weekend modifier in single player.

I agree, the current graphics of ACE are softer and less impressive then the modded AC1. I hope they hired the guy who created all the new rendering improvements used in the latest AC mods.
ACE has native MSAA option and you also have native sharpening options on top of that. It's already much better in the image quality aspect than any TAA based sim is ever going to be. The image quality of AC has nothing to do with CSP, it's again MSAA, and it's a bit more effective because the geometry is simpler. If anything CSP has a TAA option, and a lot of users are not knowledgable to NOT turn it on then and complain about image quality/blur/smearing with CSP enabled.

No content. So, they’re liars? As usual.

What an ill willed comment. Just because they show some tracks and cars in a video doesn't mean all of it makes it into 0.2. Nobody from Kunos promised or claimed that there will be 3 tracks and 9 cars coming with 0.2 in that video. Even the article you post says "The latest AC EVO video by Kunos shows a wide range of new vehicles. It is unknown how many will be included in the next update, but any combination of them should be very exciting!" Well, we get exactly this: A combination of it. So what are you on about?

Incoming simtubers frenetically launching ACE for 2 days then losing interest.
And Raced... Overtake going crazy with ACE: "Did the new ACE update changed your mind?", "Will you play ACE again ?", "The best new 3 cars of ACE", "Why ACE is good and the future", "ACE changed my life", etc.
another one: "This is the REASON why YOU should start with ACE NOW!!!1111!!1!!!!"

Graphics are not better than ACC but it runs way worse than ACC, how come?
I think they have much more serious problems to worry about than "VR support Step 2" thing...
How do we expect VR to work great when the game performs horribly even without VR?
As for all this "early access" fuss, all i see is a dark cloud of disappointment is forming, slowly...

Let's wait 1 more day to see where are they at, in the video they released a couple weeks ago they were talking about performance optimization in general as well.

This is becoming such a toxic place. You all expect the game to be different in its entirety within one update. Everyone has been crying that there are no cars, so you won’t even be testing the game. Now when they give you cars you start crying that they are focusing on content instead of fixing things. But they can’t fix things if you won’t be bothered to test it. What do you all want, seriously?

And it’s the same for every game that is mentioned here. You rule ACE out, PMR out, Nascar 25 out, EA WRC license might have even died because of this…

Because it is not a game that is 7 years in development like ACC, but a 0.2 EARLY ACCESS game.

Optimizations to the graphics engine will benefit flat screen players AND VR players. It is not that in VR a totally different image is rendered.

Let's hope they improved the software - up to now it wouldn't run at all on my system (having tried all the suggested fixes)

when the game runs for the majority of users, it is hard to blame the game. There can be issues, like ARC card users and LMU, but unless there is a large number of users also having the same(in this case generic) issue, what is to be fixed?

I don't like to be bitter about things, but... We can wait 1 more day to see what's this update about, as you said. Fingers crossed...
I don't think it will be some miraculous 2x performance jump the next patch, but let's not forget this is a new in-house engine that has much more potential to improve, compared to a 3rd party universal engine that the devs cannot really change much, like UE for ACC. I am also disappointed with the first release, but the potential to grow is huge and that's what matters the most at this point.

Not only zero point two Early access, the engine running ACE is new, built from the ground up, not some recycled old engine that every sim for the past 15 Years have been using, there will be bugs, there will be optimisation's needed across the board with this engine.

I'm amazed by some comments. How anyone dares to expect any groundbreaking update just a few weeks after the release of a (bad) tech demo as an early access?

If you can't stand games in alpha and beta states, just calm down, stop torturung yourself, relax and come back in, at least, 2 years. Just give your brain some rest and you will enjoy the game when it is in a much better state. Life is better without disappointment and frustration, especially towards a video game...

I agree. Personally, as a person who has a little to do with interactive application development, it's interesting to see the progress (or regression :) of games. How a pile of @#$% gradually creates something that works well (or not so well). It was like that with PCARS1, AC1, ACC. I didn't hesitate to buy ACE and recently PMR. It's a pity Ian Bell gave up on early access, but I think that's what PMR will be on release.
