After a long period of radio silence, the team at Kunos Simulazioni has offered sim racers a heartfelt apology for how the Assetto Corsa EVO Early Access has been handled so far. The video did contain more, such as a new roster of cars and circuits!

It is not news to anyone that the release of Assetto Corsa EVO could have gone better. But the developers at Kunos Simulazioni are passionate and have clearly been hard at work, implementing a multitude of changes and promises for the future. And they indirectly confirmed a number of new cars and tracks, too.

Assetto Corsa EVO New Cars

The latest AC EVO video by Kunos shows a wide range of new vehicles. It is unknown how many will be included in the next update, but any combination of them should be very exciting!

From the Maserati MC20 GT2 known from ACC to the illustrious Ferrari F2004, Michael Schumacher dominated the 2004 season to take his seventh and final F1 World Championship, it seems that there is a vehicle for everyone's taste. The combination of historic Alfa Romeos and modern cars showcases the diverse range of vehicles Kunos aims for in Assetto Corsa EVO.

  • Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT
  • Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo Evoluzione
  • Caterham Academy
  • Ferrari F2004
  • Honda NSX-R
  • Lotus Exige V6 Cup
  • Maserati MC20 GT2
  • McMurtry Spéirling
  • Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 (964)

New Circuits

The latest Assetto Corsa EVO video also revealed three new circuits: COTA (as was known from the roadmap), Donington Park, and the Red Bull Ring. All three circuits will have alternative layouts.

New circuits, Donington, COTA and Red Bull Ring have multiple layouts.

But new circuits and cars are not the only changes coming to Assetto Corsa EVO; the new custom grid selector and a nice-looking UI refresher will also be coming soon. These significant changes are a statement of intent from developer Kunos.

They ve teased 24Nords weeks ago - have they? So what s up now? Kids stuff coming and the turn to „hot-lap-simulator“ like kUNOS did with AC1 (eg MC12 GT1, Ferrari F1 2004 and many others lonely cars without any rivals) ;-(

It would still be appreciated if disrespectful people like you could calm down a little and stop calling other people's passion silly names, such as "kids' games". It's hard to understand how wanting to drive something other than a GT3 or an F1 could be considered a kids' game. You can even drive a kart, do it with mastery, and get immense enjoyment from it. Every category has its own appeal.

Hi everyone! Does anyone know if any improvements are coming soon for VR? Because right now it's unplayable. I was hoping the improvements would be a bit more frequent and faster, and frankly, I'm worried about the future.

I have no doubt it will get there, time is needed & patience. VR is a priority but never the 1st and the core systems need strengthening before then. I believe in Kunos and with Stefano onboard again as CTO they will deliver.

I saw the pictures of the 9 new cars. But they're only street cars. I miss a couple of race cars.
To split some hairs here, there are a couple of race cars in there, quite literally even since it's just two 😁 Namely the Maserati MC20 GT2 and the Ferrari F2004.

I get what you mean, though, a few more race cars would be nice to have to balance the roster of available cars a bit more. But I'm sure there will be a lot more eventually, be it first-party content or mods.

Id like to see some fwd race cars. Yes rwd are good but fwd can be amazing fun to race. Just not tcr cars they're boring.

according to this reddit post, there are some things in UI files which made me rather optimistic about ACE (competitive) racing (dont know if more than ACC has, but certainly more categories) but the do have some mentions that are pure racing features which dont exist in ACC

GAME MODES FOUND

Mentioned a couple of times when searching through some UI files.

Practice

Race Weekend

SRO Race

Instant Race

Superpole

Cruise

Drift

A to B

CAR CATEGORIES

There seems to be a general division of all available cars in the game

Evo

Heritage

Racing

Luxury

OTHER INFORMATION

Car parts seem to be clearly divided by OEM and Aftermarket types

Car tires have their own entire directory that isn't tied specifically to any car, but instead it has a lot of different compounds with different sizes

In directories that appear to be connected with game modes, there are files with "rally" in their names, however this might mean anything

There's a lot of different potential penalty types like grid position drop, fines, reprimands, penalty laps aside from typical drive through and stop n go stuff. Seem to cover any knowable type of penalty in general. Good sign for track racing.

fingers crossed 😁

Man we wanted a rally stage, a moutain pass or even a parking to drift on ,anything else than another track really.. I'm tired of going in circles
Please, buy another game. This game cannot be a hodgepodge of several modalities. I believe Kunos is straying from its premise of this being a racing simulator to turn into yet another Gran Turismo. What a shame.

Only trouble is half the mods for AC use physics mashed together from someone else's mods. And the fact that people have the cheek to charge for that sort of recycled crap on patreon is a joke. FSR for instance illegally converting rf2, lmu and forza motorsport cars then selling them for a profit.
Yeah i agree. This also make the legit modders less chance to be noticed.
I think the middle way is the VRC style of paid mods.
But im not an expert in this. would be great if @StefanoCasillo or someone with knowledge in this can explain it.

im happy with the new cars and tracks :)

That s my opinion about this game. It s a kids game like forza horizon or other playstation stuff. Also it is configurate for a HOT-LAP-SIM. YOU have to suffer my opinion - thot s liberal life

I'd recommend they go play some Motor City Online for some inspiration and ideas from nearly last century, but oh wait, that was a forced online only title that did not fare well - stupid the sims, and even though it had very realistic physics and real time dynamic weather, but yay 3dfx.. The early days of testing the waters of online only are just as relevant today, but some like to keep re-learning that fire burns.

Still here's hoping they listen and many varied and diverse game modes and community features make it in. I have never found a track or car significant for long term viability, tho it sure gets quickly forgotten hype up. I hope they really focus on what makes a core platform support eager fans to take it to the next level and being their friends in. It's no wonder FH5 and GT7 are leaps and bounds ahead, they simply listen, make good long term decisions, and put quality in the forefront. I hope the decision makers have the psychological safe spaces to call spades as they are, act accordingly, and raise the bar.
