The next update for the early access of Assetto Corsa EVO is arriving in a few short days, with new cars confirmed including a racing car, a lightweight sports car and a classic and retro car from the same brand.

After we got an update from Kunos regarding the revising of the plan for the AC EVO release, we now have an idea of what content is definitely on its way to the sim in the future. Now we know when the next stage of that plan is releasing, with the next content update arriving on May 7th at 14:00 UTC.

Kunos revealed in a tweet that four new cars are getting added to the sim, and they are the Maserati MC20 GT2, Lotus Exige V6, Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA and the Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo Evoluzione.

That was not all, though: On the official Discord server, the studio announced an additional three cars and two tracks: The Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6, Mazda MX-5 (NA) and Honda NSX-R are also part of the update, whilst the tracks are the previously confirmed Circuit of the Americas and along with that, Donington Park.

Additionally, Kunos will be adding the open mode and career mode they spoke about in their most recent keynote. They also mention that "Step 2" for both VR and triple screen support will be added in, along with new special events, replay tools and gallery and a custom race weekend modifier in single player.

Which new car will you be driving first in the Assetto Corsa EVO early access version 0.2? Let us know in the comments below and join the discussion in our AC EVO forum!

I read from those pictures that the Young are like wheelie bins with the lid off (take anything)
and the Elders among us are a little more... Guarded.
Real life is so much more complex when dealing with the simulation of real life 🤔
Looking around here, my local communities and in the world, I wouldn't be so sure age is a deciding factor how level-headedly people react to things, but let's not take this highway that could easily lead to political discussions because it doesn't belong here.

I agree. Personally, as a person who has a little to do with interactive application development, it's interesting to see the progress (or regression :) of games. How a pile of @#$% gradually creates something that works well (or not so well). It was like that with PCARS1, AC1, ACC. I didn't hesitate to buy ACE and recently PMR. It's a pity Ian Bell gave up on early access, but I think that's what PMR will be on release.

Before I retired (construction industry) there were some 'big' jobs that were going to take a long time* and I'd ask for staggered payments with the work progress, so sometimes half the money(ish) at the half way point to ensure that I could pay wages of guys fetched in to graft and prep without asking my bank, and the rest upon completion of the job.
I suppose that Early Access is similar in that it provides income at the (hopefully) half way mark, and I can see why it might need the cashflow if working for a couple of years without income (no specific studio here) and turning to a pirana investor is always tricky as that can have unwanted effects on the game/sim.

But I say "never judge a job until it's done and the builders say c'ya"

However, I know the dangers of a half done job getting dumped, that was and still is a battle that respectable firms have allaying the fears of new customers about... (I never left one incomplete, but I did have to set my tax off after not being paid because the customer went broke!)

There, fixed it!

Graphics are not better than ACC but it runs way worse than ACC, how come?
I think they have much more serious problems to worry about than "VR support Step 2" thing...
How do we expect VR to work great when the game performs horribly even without VR?
As for all this "early access" fuss, all i see is a dark cloud of disappointment is forming, slowly...
the graphics are far better than ACC, particulary with the DLSS 4.0, sorry if you have not good hardware, it's EA access and probably a 2026 game, dont hope to run it perfectly with 2019 hardware....like ACC from 2019 and hardware from today 2025, with hardware from 2032 you can expect good performance in AC EVO ;) be patient, KUNOS is always EVO and FUTURE.

I suppose that Early Access is similar
Not only that. As you can see, Kunos listen to the wishes of players, and not only add new content, but also change some aspects in the development process. And it's easier to do it at the stage of not fully ready product than to redo the finished one. I know it from myself :)

What an ill willed comment. Just because they show some tracks and cars in a video doesn't mean all of it makes it into 0.2. Nobody from Kunos promised or claimed that there will be 3 tracks and 9 cars coming with 0.2 in that video. Even the article you post says "The latest AC EVO video by Kunos shows a wide range of new vehicles. It is unknown how many will be included in the next update, but any combination of them should be very exciting!" Well, we get exactly this: A combination of it. So what are you on about?
ACE would win if "missing" A1-Ring (RedBull'sRing) track is released before GP IRL (end of June).
Electric Vacuum Needle car (McMurtry's Thunderstorm) should be banned for simulators, as it does not need physics.

Stoked for the extra cars, and I love Donny. New tracks will come in time. To be 100% clear, I don't want EVO to be ACC+AC either, no way. For me, EVO also runs way less optimal than I imagined. My performance guesstimate wasn't realistic enough, hey ho.

But, it's early access and comes with the badge, things will get fixes. Like many of you, I'm happy to assist Kunos to pay the bills. Yes, things aren't perfect in this very early EA phase, but this is exactly the kind of approach we need sims to take. Studios like Kunos, and Marcel (The Last Garage) working hard to cover new ground.

As people have rightly said, miracles won't happen at each patch. But lots of tiny improvements will happen every few weeks, which is what we signed up for. Anyone who hasn't seen/read Kunos' recent dev update can catch the text summary at the link below. One more sleep!!

I'm getting it running better and looking better in VR than I ever got ACC to run and look. This is hope enough for me.

really? dayum, ,my card is equivalent to a 4070 so I have no chance! then again I'm perfectly happy with 1080p, so fingers crossed.
Most people are in the real world and don't even have a 4070... and it's 'most people' that the game is aimed at, what's the point of making something that so few can run, cos if they don't like it, you're buggered!

He obviously already had too much grass, don't encourage him ;)
Virtual grass could be pretty cool too, in PMR it feels top notch, guess it was a mandatory requirement to sign the deal with Farming Simulator devs. Looking forward to a tractor/lawnmower mod later on.

It's the opposite, we should feel grateful to have the opportunity to drive such an innovative and expensive car in various tracks around the world in ACE. There's also a mod for AC but the physics is wrong, I can't wait to see how fast it can go through the Nordschleife with an official model approved by the manufacturer.

I am very excited about the upcoming VR improvement 😀 What about DLSS support for VR? Would be great to use the transformer model to gain additional performance!

I run ACE on a Core i7, 4070ti super, 32GB DDR5, NVMe with 7300 MB/s read and 6600 MB/s write, max graphic settings running at 2k res with 100+ FPS solo and around 70 to 90 with max cars, rain and at night.
i run triple screens. runs like a dog with 3 broken legs. i can barely eek out stable 60fps on high with a lot of individual settings like shadows turned right down onmy 5090. on med-low i can achieve stable 60fps, but cars pop into your mirrors 10m behind you etc

I have a 7800X3D and overclocked 7900 GRE power limited to 300W, and v0.1.6 gets me mid-80s to 90s FPS with 23 AI cars in clear/overcast conditions. 2K Ultra, Texture Pool set to High, Vehicle LoD- Ultra, Mirrors - Ultra, in-game FSR 3 at Ultra Quality.

It can just about manage 60 avg in the worst case - Suzuka night with rain and 23 AI cars. High 50s typical, and some parts of the track get you 60+ easily. If I'm doing this, I use lossless scaling 3 with native 50 FPS with x2 multiplier for a smooth 100 FPS.

The game runs a bit better on Nvidia 40 series. DLSS 4 DLL swap can get you sharp and clear results at Quality preset. Main problem will be VRAM for RTX 30 series. It's just not enough.

Running triples is always more demanding, no surprise there. Evo is early access with quite a bit of optimization still yet to be done, no surprise there. “I am Jack's complete lack of surprise”

 Wake me up when we find out about how the modding is going to work. I want to know how easy it is going to be and who is going to get involved. I'm sure Kunos will get the physics and ffb right but not so certain they can produce a decent AI experience. If the modding is easy and the big modding groups get involved and Kunos produces a half decent AI, then I will start to get really excited. Until then

P.S. Those of you who own it please post your impressions of this patch.
