After a long period of radio silence, the team at Kunos Simulazioni has offered sim racers a heartfelt apology for how the Assetto Corsa EVO Early Access has been handled so far. The video did contain more, such as a new roster of cars and circuits!

It is not news to anyone that the release of Assetto Corsa EVO could have gone better. But the developers at Kunos Simulazioni are passionate and have clearly been hard at work, implementing a multitude of changes and promises for the future. And they indirectly confirmed a number of new cars and tracks, too.

Assetto Corsa EVO New Cars

The latest AC EVO video by Kunos shows a wide range of new vehicles. It is unknown how many will be included in the next update, but any combination of them should be very exciting!

From the Maserati MC20 GT2 known from ACC to the illustrious Ferrari F2004, Michael Schumacher dominated the 2004 season to take his seventh and final F1 World Championship, it seems that there is a vehicle for everyone's taste. The combination of historic Alfa Romeos and modern cars showcases the diverse range of vehicles Kunos aims for in Assetto Corsa EVO.

  • Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT
  • Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo Evoluzione
  • Caterham Academy
  • Ferrari F2004
  • Honda NSX-R
  • Lotus Exige V6 Cup
  • Maserati MC20 GT2
  • McMurtry Spéirling
  • Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 (964)

New Circuits

The latest Assetto Corsa EVO video also revealed three new circuits: COTA (as was known from the roadmap), Donington Park, and the Red Bull Ring. All three circuits will have alternative layouts.

New circuits, Donington, COTA and Red Bull Ring have multiple layouts.

But new circuits and cars are not the only changes coming to Assetto Corsa EVO; the new custom grid selector and a nice-looking UI refresher will also be coming soon. These significant changes are a statement of intent from developer Kunos.

Alternatively, you can race all of this already, for peanuts, plus much more, in the original Assetto Corsa.

AC Evo offers nothing over what I already have.
It's just a matter of time. Imagine complaining that a 25yo man has a lower net worth than a 60yo man... The former recently entered the workforce, the latter is close to pension. ACE is responsible for being new? Lol

Gentlemen, let's ditch the personal disputes and try and stick to the topic.
That s to easy Kenny. You (the forum) should sort out the guys or girls attack others because of an different - not mainstream -opinion. To me ACEvo is a kids-sim, why tackle me?

As a text based site differing opinions are a given, I didn't "tackle" you personally, just trying to keep things on track.
If we did as you suggest in your first sentence I suspect there would be cries of denying free speech, some unfortunately can be a bit strident and go too far but it's a good thing that they're passionate about our hobby.

My last answer because I believe it's useless to argue with you. Don't you realise that by saying that something that other people enjoy is a "kids sim" you are the one attacking other people tastes first? Saying you and all the GT3 lmh lovers are the grown ups and the others the kids. I don't even argue with your tastes, just your choice of words and if you can't understand and keep talking about freedom of speech it doesn't matter. I'm sorry Kenny but it's a thing that triggers me.

Under the Imola GP track on the picture there is another unknown track (for me), but it is not shown fully

It would still be appreciated if disrespectful people like you could calm down a little and stop calling other people's passion silly names, such as "kids' games". It's hard to understand how wanting to drive something other than a GT3 or an F1 could be considered a kids' game. You can even drive a kart, do it with mastery, and get immense enjoyment from it. Every category has its own appeal.

He has some valid points though. What simracing is now almost completely lacking is to have a game based upon real life racing series with actual grids, not random selection of cars stuck together for a hot-lapping simulator with no racing instruments. Assetto Corsa is a great simulator, however it's a car sandbox - hardly a racing game. Doesn't have elementary race weekend settings, AI is questionable, you can't set a proper endurance race, no rolling starts, horrendous UI which makes it all even more convoluted and harder. Even rFactor 1 didn't have to be so hardly modded to get a proper racing experience.

Yes, there are ACC and LMU, however they are completely not moddable, contrary to games like rF, GTR2, AC1, Automobilista, etc.

Since only a few posts are being deleted, I'll just comment on the main question.
There are 3 new tracks and 9 new cars, MAYBE when they release an update in addition to the announcements.

Why is it so hard for people to actully read. Open mode will have the sandbox mode so you dont have to buy cars if you dont want to. Thats what the career mode is for. I am all for progression in thst way the cars feel much more special to me. Never going to use the open mode.

Kunos did a great job here to try to appeal to both sides. Praise to kunos👍

Lets hope that they fix their VR implementation. Until then im not buying it.
Indeed! I am back to exclusively VR again after fixing my headset. This means i'm back on AMS2 and AC1 and nothing else. Sadly LMU isnt up to par against those two titles either (for me anyway).

iRacing has all those racing elements and options.
Also both official series and private leagues with many admin controls for sessions, races, standings and so on.
But I suppose, since it is iRacing, my comment will be meet with rolled eyes by half the people in the community in here, as usual.

One thing I would like to see them do is add proper gamepad support. I know that's an unpopulated opinion with a few on here but currently it just uses xinput and you can have it set perfect so you can have the steering feel nice and be able to catch slides BUT and it's a big one, when you go into a dip like the one at brands hatch going through dingle dell into sheene curve when the front suspension weights up you lose all steering ability and you turn the stick and the car just doesn't want to turn. Tried all sorts of settings especially messing with the speed sensitivity but nothing changes it. ACC was a bit like it when that first released too but not as bad as this. Only seems to happen with rear drive cars though like the porsche

If it's going to mainly road cars, they should have ROADS. The upcoming Nurbs neighbourhood looks interesting. It needs more "sandbox" type tracks like LA Canyons, before I'll buy. You need race cars on racetracks and roads for road cars.

I am going to borrow a saying from GPU reviews, nowadays there usually aren't bad products, just badly priced ones. Also, it's nice that iRacing has apparently decent AI and the ability to set up realistic grids via Trading Paints, but the price doesn't change for the offline player. There's nothing wrong with preferring, liking, endorsing iRacing, but accessibility is questionable, depending on where you live first and foremost. Good salary in one country could be absolute poverty in another, but the cost of iRacing is fixed.

Regarding the longer discussion, I agree that AC fails as a racing simulator. But for ACE we have to wait, there's a long road ahead. On the other hand I think that there's a place and market for simulating not just racing cars and series. But of course I would prefer to have more rules and options in ACE compared to AC, and I am pretty sure it will be more robust from that perspective.
