The new Formula One game may not release until late May, but sim racers can get their 2025 F1 fix in Automobilista 2 already thanks to the appropriate livery pack.
The 2025 Formula One season sees its fourth race already this weekend when the lights go out at Suzuka, and fans are eager to hop in the cockpit themselves - the March player numbers on Steam showed this, with F1 24 seeing a notable increase of average concurrent players. The new game is still almost two months away, but Automobilista 2 could be a good alternative: @KRRTDustin has once again released a livery pack for the new season.
Created for the Formula Ultimate Gen 2 car, the F1 2025 Skin Pack was uploaded on February 17 already in its first version, and while it still has not reached v1.0 status, version 0.9 already offers most of what you would need. Car liveries, helmets (some of them in their 2024 version), driver suits - only the car previews when selecting a livery in the AMS2 UI are still 2024-spec, but that should change soon.
Of course, AI files are also included, so you will see the actual names of the 2025 F1 grid in AMS2, and they should perform close to their real-life counterparts as well. As the season progresses, this will probably be fine-tuned to match the actual drivers even closer.
The pack does not yet reflect the cockpit swap between Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix, and the one-off special liveries are also not included. However, if KRRTDustin's 2024 pack is any indication, this should be added in due time. Last year's pack featured special liveries and even the XML selector known from @Immersion Modding Group creations.
Lewis Hamilton in red might still take some time to get used to, but the yellow helmet in a Ferrari does look rather good.
Automobilista 2 may not have that many tracks that are on the actual 2025 F1 schedule, but there are plenty of circuits that fans would love to see back in the World Championship at some point. The Nürburgring or Hockenheim come to mind, our you could finally have Formula One return to Kyalami and even Long Beach, should you be so inclined.
