WRC is set to leave behind EASports and Codemasters, and possibly look for a new home. Which studio/publisher do you think will be passed the hot potato!?

Let us know in the comments below who you picked and why 🔥 🔥 🔥

Kunos Simulazioni, with Official WRC and F1 License (and classic dlc's).
Or Bugbear Entertainment

Kunos is a small team focused 100% on ACE, unlikely. Reiza is not that focused on off road, S397 would be a dream but again, it's a small team. Bugbear's focused 100% on Wreckfest 2, iRacing total nonsense, Milestone is a realistic option, S4 is focused on PMR. If one could dream, I would say BeamNG or The Last Garage, too sandbox the first, too small and niche the second tho.

Yeah, pretty much my thoughts,
It's likely then that an outsider could step up, Frontier Developments are at a loose end (as far as I see) and Bethesda... they've left it long enough since Skyrim that the buyers have never heard of Elder Scrolls and wouldn't care.
Beam NG would seem the most likely...

Edit: There's always Poliphony Digital, though it would mean that they break from ther norm and turn to aditional platforms... there's that Gran Turismo on PC bit again!

Good news, since I'm not a fan of Evil Alliance (if you recall that reference you are an old gamer). Perhaps a group of devs will band together, get the license, and release something like a modern RBR, which I still enjoy. Hell, I still enjoy Rally Trophy.

There are just 2 ways to innovate in rally imo:

1) Soft body damage model with real cars and official liveries;
2) Hardcore physics.

Both would be insane and huge fun, just 1 of these 2 elements would still be enough to celebrate.

I think Saber Interactive (not Sabre by the way ;) ) could make an interesting choice. Dynamic surface deformation is something I wanted to see in rally games for a long time...

Blessed or cursed?

WRC is not in a good place at the moment, likely next year will have 2 cars in the top class.

The series is changing locations so frequently it's going to be very difficult to create high quality stage content to keep up.

I imagine for it to be vaguely viable to have a product capable of representing the real WRC it'll have to use Unreal, so IMO I hope Milestone can get it back and make it work - they've done good things with Ride/MotoGP games and even the development and rider market features on the MotoGP games would be great to have.

Fingers crossed if an Unreal dev does pick it up, EA can sell the fantastic stage assets from WRC to them, because it would be a shame if amazing stages were tossed out the window yet again.

I think we need three polls...

1. Who do we think will get it?

2. Who do we want to get it that willl be able to do something with it?

3. Who would we like to get it that has best chance of being a splendid game if they could afford to do something with it that's called BeamNG.

Honestly I see none of the established sim devs to be in it.

BeamNG devs are working on a forever Early Access title. Kunos, Reiza, S397 should focus on their active project.

I like the offroad handling in Wreckfest, but they also have their hands full and rally is a different beast from the kind of racing they are developing.

Funnily enough I used to like the Rallycross in PC2 (strangely more than AMS2), but they also have their hands full.

Here's a chance for KW to ditch RaceRoom and finally work on a fresh product.

It'd be neat if this is why BeamNG has been introducing rally elements recently. Reiza or Kunos would be interesting. As long as SOMEONE keeps making rally sims.
