Fulfilling sportscar fans' immersion fix is the 2025 IMSA livery pack for Automobilista 2, available to download from the OverTake downloads page. But it makes us wish the game was a little more flexible.
Late last year, sportscar racing fans finally received the content they had been waiting for. In late December of 2024, the Automobilista 2 1.6 update launched with an IMSA track pack and the second Endurance DLC bringing pretty much everything you need for an immersive 2024 IMSA racing experience.
That date is key however as many of the liveries available in the current AMS2 IMSA preset are now outdated, leaving the more hardcore fans looking for something more recent and immersive. Well, thanks to the OverTake community, that desire is finally satisfied. Here is how to get up-to-date 2025 IMSA liveries into Automobilista 2.
Spike may be the most recognisable livery in IMSA 2025.
Amassing liveries designed by a number of other OverTake users, the skin pack is nothing if not a community effort and one that we are certainly thankful for, now looking forward to recreating this year's races so far.
In its current state, the pack has liveries for all GTP competitors bar the quartet of Porsche 963 though their liveries have hardly changed compared to 2024. Look down to the LMP2 class and you will notice that just eight liveries are currently featured, though we expect the remaining few to join the ranks soon whilst the GTD cars available in AMS2 all seem to be accounted for.
Though sadly, due to missing car models in the game's car list, fan favourites like the Ford Mustang and Lexus GT3s as well as the ear-piercing Aston Martin Valkyrie and gargling Acura GTPs are not available to race. That being said, the team behind the simulator has been keen to hint at the arrival of other GTP and GT3 cars and so that list of missing cars may well soon shrink.

Incorporating car lists, correct tracks, realistic rulesets and even fixing correct race dates, the presets allow a more immersive experience without the need to fiddle through settings for hours. Whilst binding the player to series correct rules makes a lot of sense, we do sometimes yearn for a little flexibility when it comes to car and entry lists.
As part of the IMSA preset in AMS2, the game only provides nine slots for GTP machinery where the real series runs 11 cars. With the similarities between the shy Acura and Alpine LMDh that actually is available in AMS2, we wonder about the possibilities for greater grid tweaking options.
For instance, we would like the option to add a pair of Alpine models sporting Acura Meyer Shank liveries for a greater level of detail and competition. The same could be said for the GTD class where the IMSA preset cuts access to the Audi R8 GT3, a model that could replace the missing flock of Ferraris for example. Though a V10-bellowing German supercar cosplaying as an Italian 296 does sound like blasphemy.
Moreover, now that Pfaff and Optimum Motorsport have moved away from the McLaren 720S GT3, the car should no longer be present in the game's IMSA preset but there appears to be no way of removing it without the developer's help.

Can Reiza Improve its Series Presets?
It was not just content that came as part of the V1.6 update late last year to Automobilista 2 however as the title also received numerous overhauls and improvements. Once of which was the addition of presets for the game essentially transforming it from a sandbox to a dedicated sim - though for an endless list of series and disciplines.Pfaff Lamborghini chasing the Chrome Cadillac in Automobilista 2.
