After a wait of 16 months and the unfortunate news that the game will delayed until May 2026, Rockstar Games dropped the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI and we went looking for all the cars that are in it.

Grand Theft Auto, one of the juggernauts of the gaming industry of which the last entry in the series GTA V released all the way back in 2013. It has been a long time coming, but even after its first teaser dropped in December 2023 - amassing 250 million views in 24 hours - it was still uncertain when GTA VI would release.

After a tentative late 2025 release window was placed, the game has been delayed but now with a set release of May 26th 2026. To soften the blow, Rockstar Games have just released the first full trailer going more in depth on the lives of the two main characters, Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval.

Yes, we may be a dedicated racing game website and strictly speaking, GTA 6 is not one of those, but it does have a heavy emphasis on cars. Plus, in GTA Online there are four open wheel cars that have tyre wear playing a factor in races.

So with all that being said, let's take a look at all the cars we can decipher in the second GTA 6 trailer.

GTA 6 Trailer 2 Cars

Starting off the trailer, we see the first of the two protagonists, Jason, getting visited by his landlord Brian, who is driving a massive pickup. The truck is a Vapid Caracara, which resembles a second generation Ford Raptor. Jason then drives off to run errands and is gawked at by the local ladies, one of whom is stood next to a Maibatsu Penumbra, modelled on a fourth generation Mitsubishi Eclipse.

On a highway, Jason is behind a load of pickups but also a blue sports car which is an Invetero Coquette, which even by not seeing it, the name gives away that it is a Chevrolet Corvette, specifically a C7 generation model. Of course, there are a few police cars since when you are living a criminal lifestyle, the law will always be following and one of the cars we spotted was a Bravado Buffalo STX, based on a 2015 Dodge Charger.

Then of course the shot we have for the header, featuring a car with wheel rims that stick out like Boudicea spikes. The car appears to resemble the Benefactor Schafter - based on a range of Mercedes saloon/sedan cars - but with a slightly different look compared to the Schafter that is found in the previous game.

For a game titled Grand Theft Auto, it appears that there will be plenty of that in the next game. Image: Rockstar Games

Behind that car are a bunch of very identifiable ones. There is the Bravado Banshee (2nd gen Dodge Viper), Pfister Growler (Porsche 718 Cayman) and the Emperor Vectre (facelifted Lexus RC F). Also, what most certainly resembles a Lamborghini Reuvelto, although such a car did not appear in a previous GTA game but perhaps safe to assume it will fall under the brand that most Lambos do in these games, Pegassi.

Speaking of which, Jason jumps from a motorcycle into the back of a moving truck where a car is being transported. Whether it is the same car or not, we cannot tell but the rear is distinctively one that looks like it is based on a Lamborghini as well.

The trailer ends with Lucia and Jason driving off in the same car they appear in from the first trailer, the Declasse Tulip which is based on a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu. However from official artwork, Jason's actual car would appear to be a ute that resembles a fifth generation Ford Ranchero with elements from a Holden HR ute. The only previous ute to appear in the GTA series was the Cheval Picador, and this ute has a Vapid badge, the GTA universe equivalent to Ford.

This unnamed Vapid ute may play a central role in the story of Lucia and Jason. Image: Rockstar Games

Grand Theft Auto VI will release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on May 26th 2026 (assuming there are no more delays), with no PC release confirmed just yet although some rumours hint at the game being available for PC as early as 2027.

This game is going to be insane. Whether you're a fan of the series or not its going to impact the gaming world in some good and bad ways. The bad way will be it will create a new pricing precident for games. Rockstar doing the right thing in really taking their time with it to make it as good as it can be too. Personally i think if it hadnt have been for them leaks then today would have been the release day for trailer 1.

I agree with your point about the bad way, but I don't see any good ways whatsoever.

There's going to be some amazing tech within that game. Just like any rockstar game the world will be full of things going on. I couldn't care about online and kind of hope online isn't included to begin with because they went a bit too far with 5 when they added stupid flying motorbikes and cars

Will they offer options in game or easily interfaced with physics layers for more realistic/sim racing, it could get very interesting.

If the FreedomFactory just on the other side of the gator bayou from Vice City has some oval racing and the track editor has community creators recreating Spa, COTA, and Fuji on day one, then optimized and better looking than anything out there by the end of the week, it's going to get really amazing.

GTA6 mods for No hesi style highway smokey and the bandit "racing", rally racing with some pace notes, and . After a decade, a few months spent refining some moment of inertia integral maths and contact patch interactions and shabangity, there's a platform that offers role playing as a race car driver like never before.

I guess the question is, has beamNG been working with them on deformation and or damage models? At some point the Kevlar force distribution and breaching simulation aspects of rogue thuggery has to step up a bit, ya?

But where to hire the pilots who can do the flyovers at the start of the race? and the pyrotechnical artists for the end of race celebrations?

The level of detail in both trailers is honestly insane. On one hand, it's a shame that we have to wait for longer (from a purely impatient "gimme now!" point), but if they need more time to create an in-depth world like that, so be it. I'm sure the result is going to be worth it 🔥

Licenced cars in the game? I thought car manufacturers didn't want to be involved with running people over and criminality? I did read some rumours that you won't be able to recklessly just go around murdering civilians in this one. Who knows, maybe with licenced cars you won't be able to mow people down.

I'm assuming those cut-scenes are all full in-game renderings but that doesn't mean actual gameplay will look like that. Even if the in-game "pause and take a screenshot" graphics are identical to the cutscenes, I highly, highly doubt the physics, movements, physical interactions, animations, etc. will look/be as natural & complex as in the cut-scenes.

Unfortunately, game developers, and most players, are obsessed with "screenshot graphics" rather than physics/interactions graphics...that's why some games can, at times, almost look like real life while paused / during a screenshot but as soon as you un-pause the game, then even someone with only 1 brain cell can tell it's not real life. It's also why you can get a black-and-white television show from 100 years ago and in some ridiculously low resolution but still be able to tell that's it's real life...because of the physics/movements/interactions.

Having said all that, the game OBVIOUSLY looks technically amazing.

They could have toned it down with the non-stop hoes, bums, and boobs every 2nd or 3rd cut (and screenshots)...at the very least they could have been good looking, classy women instead of a bunch of trashy, greasy hoes.

There are no licenced cars. They're just cars that resemble the real things.

I thought the same as you but in the final splash screen as the trailer ends it says "captured on ps5"

Thing is with whatever they've spent time and money on for this could also be the base for another red dead redemption game too which would be awesome. $2 billion development budget will have been used extremely well.

It is so packed with details, that it is hard to notice cars at all. If they would just start baking movies. I'd watch them. Rackstar 1 - actual movies industry 0.

WE GOT OVERTAKE TALK ABOUT GTA VI BEFORE GTA VI THAT GOOD NEWS FOR ME I M EXCITING TO SEE THIS CARS TO TEST IT AFTER R RELEASE THE GAME

Unfortunately we are going to have to wait an extra year for a PC release :(

The biggest market for those hyper cars are people with criminal activity and rappers.

Now seeing the video, great made, lot of details and compare to those zombies in other games like F24, here seeing people who are looking like real and walking normally.

would this be released in VR mode?

What amazing was there in gta V? Honest question. GTA IV tech was amazing, but as far as I remember V, there was more stuff, more detailed, dumbed down physics, dumbed down systems and can't really remember amazing tech.
