Assetto Corsa EVO: Info On Modding Tools Imminent

The next batch of information for Assetto Corsa EVO will be revealed on April 11th in a video premiering on their official YouTube channel at 16:00 UTC, including what to expect from the modding tools.

After entering early access on January 16th, the reveals for the brand new Assetto Corsa EVO title have been a bit of a slow burn, the last content update that released all the way back in February featured two new cars and Fuji Speedway. But Kunos will be showing more in a reveal video premiering on April 11th.

In the video, they will be going in depth about the offline open mode - perhaps referring to the freeroam Eifel region map around the Nürburgring - as well as the modding tools that many in the community will be eager to learn more about. A planned boost to game performance and finally, the return of Stefano Casillo to the team, will also be in the spotlight.

Looking at the roadmap, it will also be likely we will learn about the next planned update. Five additional cars plus the Circuit of the Americas are set to make up this free content update before more regularly planned content updates.

Stay tuned for what Kunos will reveal in their video tomorrow at 16:00 UTC. We will cover all that's revealed, of course, and you can join @Michel Wolk for a live watchalong and reaction on YouTube - see the livestream embedded at the top of the article!

Yeah but how are these over zealous critics going to turn that recommended rating around.

If I was little Johnny and did not use sim sites etc. ( more don't ) and went to steam with my birthday money to buy a new game and saw it was like 70% recommended why would I buy it over sims that say 92% ?

Monthly is down to 52% :alien:...........that's just belligerence. lol

Moral of the story ........don't shite in your own nest

P.S. actually thinking about it seems strange it's gone from, 60% to 70% overall when monthly reviews are still well below 60% .

I guess many peeps must be changing their tunes and reversing their impetuous decisions ? huh ?

The only ones responsible for reviews are the companies releasing the games. Extremes (bad intention or blind praise) usually cancel out in a large sample of reviews. Please, don't put the responsibility of the success of a product on the users. Of course the status of Early Access should be considered, but it is not a free pass to do whatever one wants. Nevertheless, if little Johnny asked me, personally, what is the first sim he should buy given the scenario (uninformed, new to simracing), ACE at this current state would be among the last I would recommend, so the reviews are useful.

Regarding the teaser itself, sounds interesting, I will make sure to watch it as soon as possible. I understood that "offline single player" reference more like what we can do in offline mode rather than Eifel you guys are mentioning in the OP. It's a popular question anyway. I am very interested what they have to say, open communication is very important at this stage of development, the majority of my criticism comes from the lack of transparency and communication.

duly noted, thank you.

Really, really hope they're not going to monetize modded content via some kind of marketplace.

But if they do, we will always have the ol' reliable AC :)
Of course. Gamers are prepared to shake away any opportunity of having advanced vehicle dynamics simulation and advanced features, just so they could drive their favorite ripped 3D models on low audio and physics interest mod packs.

While AC is great. LOVED it. For so many hours, jumped out before modders "saved" it, so it is possible now to experience cool looking wet track racing with dry physics and various overblown extra effects. AC still AIN'T SH*T comparing to what Kunos could technically achieve if only they weren't cuffed by kind of people who are drooling over Porsche 911 with Lola T70 physics as long as FFB is informative. Hopefully that doesn't become industry standard.... I fear that damage has been done though.

I appreciate many are interested in mod tools, I'm sure many are holding off purchasing EVO until they are happy with the future mod scenario post-launch. No harm in that at all.

EDIT: Marco then announced modding tools will launch before v1.0, so as to test the system.

It'll be nice to read about what progress is planned. The performance is far from ideal, they obviously needed to start to get revenue coming in after a lengthy initial dev cycle. I personally said that ppl should not worry (about early access) because Kunos always developed their own engines that performed well. I feel that statement has been proven wrong grrrrr.

Give me a button to disable the OTT post-pressing filtering/brightness. It's like driving down the track being filmed through a camera - and not as seen IRL by our naked eyes. I'm a TV replay nerd, and the low frame spikes are poop. Brands Hatch is dire, Imola is better. So trees could be an issues too, they do appear complicated. I always preferred AC with post-processing off. We all remember that certain reflection settings bought the engine to its knees. I'm no software engineer - but I think the gfx post-processing is harming performance to a large degree. I haven't refunded, as my expectations were realistic and EVO will take lots of development.

Whilst I think some people weren't entirely realistic in their Early Access expectations, they're free to review as they see fit of course. EVO has a long way to go before a track like The Green Hell is going to run well within the sim. Interesting times ahead.

First of all, I am happy that they are working hard on AC Evo, I think if they fix some issues it could be a great sim.

Offline open mode to me does not refer to open-world. I suspect it refers to having all the content unlocked and available in a more clear way (at the moment you have to go to settings and move a switch to "offline"). Maybe they have been re-designing this mode so it is clearer for everyone.

I am curious about modding: although on one hand it would be really interesting to have immediate access to modding tools for AC Evo, if the game is not "mature" enough this may lead to some issues. But certainly I would welcome modding as soon as the game is ready for it.

Like other people I would like to see some form of multiplayer available, because as long as the AI is not good enough multiplayer certainly offers a good place to drive/race against other cars.

Some of you guys are really misguided with this LMU v ACE "war" narrative. We consumers should not want any wars or root for any sim to topple the other, our best interest is that all sims are great and thrive. Of course if not-so-great aspects are not called out by the community, it will never be improved, so constructive criticism is needed, especially now that both sims are technically early access, albeit in different phases of early access. But rooting for a sim to be more popular than another sim just because does not benefit us in the slightest.

LMU already overtook AC EVO

LMU won this battle.
if you start the race 11 months before me, how can you overtake me? with blue flags? :D

when LMU was 4 months old the question was if it could even made it to "full" release before bankruptcy.

let alone the complains about DLC, season pass, subscription etc.

i am very glad it going strong in steam charts, worth even more IMHO
i am one of those players now, and i was there from day one, giving it my faith and support as i do with any simracing title available

there is no battle or war to win or lose, especially if you are part of both sides (actually on all sides when talking about simracing titles) like i am.
that said, whiners and haters lost their battles with LMU and hopefully, they will lose their battle with ACE. 🏳️

Amen to that.

But for some obscure reason the tribalism within simracing is mindblowing.

LMU is not comparable to ACE, it is slightly comparable to ACC. Judging by steamcharts it looks like ACC has two times more traction than LMU, unfortunately. ACE aligns with rF2 and AC, at the moment.

Total numbers is not making a game fun though. The numbers of people who goes on same direction, communicates with you or/and goes to race together will. Obviously more players means, likely there will be more of those.

rF2 with its variety of content and active racing options with 300people is very little. ACE with as little as it offers right now, 300 people is not bad, and it is a newborn baby still. Question is how good it will be later ?
