No Previous-Gen Consoles: F1 25 Will Not Come To PS4 Or Xbox One

The F1 25 game has been revealed via a short trailer, which included the release date - but not the info that the game will not be released on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

We got the first reveal trailer for F1 25 that we have done a deep dive on all the new content about, with more info on the upcoming Formula One game to be shared in April, according to EA Sports. One bit of important information for all those who have a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One of any type: Unfortunately it would appear F1 25 will not ship for those platforms.

In a press release, EA Sports have confirmed the release date of May 30th for the Standard Edition with three days early access for those who pick up the Iconic Edition. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, Epic Games and EA Play - but not on previous-gen consoles, unlike F1 24 and its predecessors.

The trailer itself seems to indicate that the graphics have advanced, with the player models for the characters in a returning Braking Point storymode looking even more detailed than from when they last appeared on F1 23. This could be connected to the snubbing of the older-gen consoles, with Codemasters not having to make compromises for their less potent hardware.

Of course, with this, the question becomes what would be the system requirements for PC. Thankfully, Codemasters and EA Sports were kind enough to detail all of that on the freshly launched F1 25 Steam page.

F1 25 System Requirements

  • MINIMUM:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Windows 10 64-bit Version 21H1 or newer

Compared to the specs of F1 24, the requirements for F1 25, both minimum and recommended, are identical, though, so it should be interesting to see the level of visual improvement across the entire game.

They (In my op) also hinted reverse tracks, Hamilton coming out the pit entry, some shots looking freakishly like they are going reverse, and also the drivers saying "this is amazing","its a game changer" ex.
Fingers crossed🤞🤞

In the list of stuff you get if you buy the iconic edition is "F3 driver icons" does that mean theyve added f3 alongside f2?

Genuinely not interested in the awful movie content. Im not bothered by the fact classic cars havent been included for a while but its F1 75 this year surely it would have made sense no?

It would seem not judging by the fact they have the F1 and F2 licences mentioned but not F3.

It's just perplexing to me. Why would they go to the effort of scanning F3 drivers but not add the F3 car.

My guess is they ran out of time to add it but decided to put the drivers in anyway. Maybe F3 will be added for 2026 then.

Yuki will be in RB team?
No clue. There has been precedent before with drivers getting swapped around. Gasly and Albon had their places swapped post release.

As for times drivers get moved around after the season starts and before the game releases, there's precedent for that in F2. I remember Alessio Lorandi got included at Trident in F1 2019 despite the fact a certain undesirable driver started the season with them.
