Good news for console and PC players who did not purchase F1 24 on release, it is now possible for those subscribed to EA Play to pick up the most recent F1 game. The title will be available from February 20th.
While many people are already asking for EA Sports and Codemasters to reveal F1 25 as the next installment of the annual F1 game series, the most recent one will have to suffice for now. F1 24 was released last May to mixed reception, and many within the hardcore sim racing community refused to pick it up, possibly contributing to a dramatic drop in sales compared to previous titles.
With the new Formula One season on the horizon, F1 24 will become available for EA Play subscribers and also for Xbox Game Pass subscribers on PC and Ultimate tier. This works for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, so if anyone already has a subscription, it will be possible to pick up the game at no extra cost.
The game joins other racing titles under Electronic Arts' umbrella on the service, such as F1 23, EA Sports WRC, GRID Legends,, and two Need For Speed titles, Unbound and Hot Pursuit Remastered. When F1 24 is added, F1 22 will be delisted, so if you want to pick up the third-most recent game, do so before February 20th.
For anyone wanting to get into the spirit of the upcoming F1 season - which gets underway in Australia on March 16th - then there are surely not many betters way to do so than indulging in the F1 game. It may not be too long though before we hear official word about the new release, which we can safely assume will be titled F1 25.
If that pattern continues, we may be seeing F1 25 debuting in early May. There is no official word yet on whether that will be the case, but one thing is for sure: it will not be too long before we find out. It will be seemingly welcomed by the community, as the developers stated on the EA Forums that they would only get around to fixing pre-existing bugs for the next game release.
Coupled with the discontent from the community for a vast array of reasons, F1 25 may be make or break for EA Sports and Codemasters with the F1 licence.
Do you intend to pick up F1 24 if you are an EA Play or Game Pass subscriber and what would tempt you into getting the next EA Sports and Codemasters F1 game? Let us know in the comments below and join the discussion on our F1 game forums!

F1 25: An Earlier Release?
The earlier aforementioned release date of F1 24 last year in May follows a pattern that EA Sports and Codemasters have been doing, and that is continuously releasing the next game closer to the season start than the previous year. F1 23 was released in mid-June, F1 22 had an early-July release, and F1 2021 was mid-July.If that pattern continues, we may be seeing F1 25 debuting in early May. There is no official word yet on whether that will be the case, but one thing is for sure: it will not be too long before we find out.
